Quote from: NotBananaKing on Nov 15, 2016, 02:41 PMim not expecting much. i think they are going to hold off on anything big for E3 next year, to try fend off the scorpio reveal. personally i am hoping for a new trailer or gameplay for Red Dead Redemption and Mass Effect andromeda. but i dont think we will get both. though i think there is a good chance to see gameplay footage for Mass Effect.

im expecting PSX to be about more updates for coming games. mainly Horizon, Detroit, GT7, and TLG. im sure we will get something new for Horizon, TLG might get a final trailer. GT7 might appear. and im hoping for something new for Detroit, with a release date.

ohh, and i think we will see more of Wild. that game needs to release soon.
I wouldn't bank on seeing anything about Red Dead or Detroit. It doesn't look like Quantic Dream will be there nor Rockstar and Take Two. Guerrilla, Japan Studio, and PD are all going to be there so seeing new footage of Horizon, TLG, and GT are dang near a given. What I'm most curious about is why Naughty Dog will be there. Likely to promote some DLC for Uncharted 4 but could they possibly tease an upcoming project?

99% UC4 DLC I would say, they have the story DLC as well as the Coop update that people are looking forward to and both are overdue for an announcement (and a release in the Coop updates case), I'd be shocked if they have something else there.

i dont think their is a chance of ND announcing a new game at PSX. as i said earlier, i think Sony will hold back till E3 to try counter scorpio hype. i think ND will announce Story DLC, and hopefully give us an update on Co-op, since its long overdue now.

i could see Detroit being there, if its going to be a mid year release or summer release. they could announce a release date. after all, the game was announced over a year ago. but i could see Sony holding out on the release date, waiting to see if any of their Holiday titles (probably Days Gone, GoW and spiderman) get delayed, or if they end up with all of them delayed, and push back Detroit to the holidays to make up for the delays, without anybody knowing they did that.

Persona 5 will not steal your heart on Valentine's Day

Spoiler for Hidden:
Delayed to April 5

QuoteTo make up for the delay, Atlus is offering Japanese language voices as free downloadable content.

Finally, Atlus noted the game will be playable with Japanese audio and English text during this year's PlayStation Experience.

I'm... actually surprised Atlus is offering Japanese voices.

At least Europe isn't getting the shaft thanks to Deep Silver, but yeah. Let us hope that Horizon doesn't get delayed again...

Don't even fudgy go there.

But seriously another 6 weeks because of some localization BS, dang hufflepuff and here we have other companies releasing their games simultaneously worldwide with way more languages than just English and Japanese. Now admittedly Persona 5 is going to have more text to translate than most games, but still....fudgy hell.

i honestly dont understand why translating takes that much. 3 months isnt enough to translate the whole fudgy thing?

Don't ask me. I mean AtlusUSA should have gotten access to the script before the game was done anyways so they should have had more than enough time. But yeah it's apparently something about more lines needing to be recorded or lines having to be re-recorded, which is great because it's not gonna affect me cause I'm gonna play the game with the japanese dub anyways, lol.

Certain languages are more difficult to translate to English than others. This is especially true for Japanese since direct translations of certain phrases won't make sense, so translators will try to match the tone and meaning instead. XSEED has gone in depth with the localization process in an interview.

That said, there has been multiple smaller publishers of Japanese games that have no issue of localizing their games overseas, so I don't know what is holding Atlus back.

For Atlus, taking their time with something like this just seems to be....

*puts on shades*

...their persona.

Depends really, the amount of text in a game can vary.  Trails in the Sky 2's text was massive.  it was about 10 hefty text books.

and they shouldnt leave that all till the end until its translated. once a new script is written, translate it. if they work efficiently they should be able to achieve it. they been working on years on these games, they should keep localization in mind. not leave it till the very end.

Trails in the Sky 2 was a different story, it was finished way before Nisa decided to bring it here.  For Persona, it's possible Atlus didn't send the script to Atlus U.S. until more recently.
