I think that is only just the natural evolution for sony to do.  They would be stupid to limit it to just playstation consoles.

QuoteSome more info.
Looks like folks are starting to figure out how to access the data from the PSVR over USB.https://github.com/hrl7/node-psvr
 and https://github.com/tokkyo/PSVRTest
Yes.  Early days but at some point it will be reversed engineered and we'll have the PSVR working on SteamVR games.  Exciting stuff.

If you check the software licenses in the PS4's VR settings section, there's something called "morpheus bridge" that has a GPL2 license. I can't find reference to it anywhere, so it looks like something Sony wrote that's open source. I wouldn't be surprised if they were already planning some sort of PC interface. Considering how they've handled other PC interfaces, I don't blame people for not waiting, but I think it's interesting nonetheless.

On a side note, the breakout box is interesting based on the ifixit teardown and Sony's open source declarations. It's a quad-core ARM running Android, and I think the 3D audio is being handled on the GPU. The ARM has video decoding hardware that can handle 4K 60 fps 10-bit HEVC, and it has 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of flash.

This thing is going to get hacked wide open. Holly crud exciting times.

What can they do with it?

I don't know, but because it's running android and arm based it's pretty well know and shouldn't take long to hack.

I've got my pc hooked up to it. but couldn't get full screen like that guy did. He didn't show how everything was hooked up. But I couldn't get it to display anything that way. Maybe someone else will do a better video later.

I was hoping I could get elite to run in 3d but no dice. It doesn't work that way.

This is amazing...

QuoteThis is amazing... I was born with strabismic amblyopia with dipolopia aka "crossed" or "lazy" eye with constant, offset double-vision. In high school I did some strengthening therapy that straightened my eyes to make them appear uncrossed, but the condition itself was never corrected so I've just learned to live with it in my life. As a result of this I have no depth perception or stereo vision and I cannot see 3D games, 3D movies, etc, but when I play certain games in PlayStation VR I only see one image with depth!!! The other day after a couple hours of playing games I took the headset off and I saw depth around my house and in traffic for the first time in my life!! As the morning went on my vision returned back to my normal, but there's clearly some kind of "vision therapy" happening in PSVR. I'm 47 years old and I can't describe what it feels like to see depth, to see 3D for the first time in my life. It was amazing and overwhelming all at once. I know there's the medical program 'Vivid Vision' for Oculus which was developed to correct this condition, but I never expected it to happen naturally from just playing games. I really hope something like that comes to PSVR because this could be life changing for me.

That's pretty amazing. I have something similar but my one eye is basically redundant even though I can see through it, it's weird to explain. Anyway, although I use the PSVR it I still really only look through one eye so I don't get the benefit this guy is getting. Nevermind!

Lol, GT Sport was earlier confirmed to not work with PSVR in all modes but in just a special tour mode (which makes sense if you consider the concessions that had to be amde for Driveclub VR especially in terms of the car count) and the, admittetly still small Neogaf thread is already spiraling indoom hyperbole for both GTS and the PSVR.

Anyone gonna be checking out Robinson: The Journey on November 8th?  Not sure if I'll get it just yet.
