Sounds great in theory and looks cool, but I am concerned about the efficiency.

I hope this doesn't become another Solar Freakin Roadways fiasco.

depending on the details i'm going to buy.  i've already been looking into buying a solar roof.

There's a big difference in resources for what the companies can provide.
Solar Roadways was a tiny start up.  They apparently had to make the cells by hand. Which really makes things ridiculously infeasible.
Here Tesla is promising:

Lower cost than a traditional roof when combined with projected utility bill savings.

They're a different company.  Tesla is a multi-billion dollar company.  Elon Musk is a multi-billion dollar individual, who's had his hand in many other things including going to Mars.

Keep in mind that solar panels get cheaper.

Thats great. sadly i cant even think about it. no rebates here and electric companys want to charge you more gor having it. So id save nothing.

the thing with solar panels,  if they are not pointed directly at the sun,  you start to lose out in alot of power.   dirt,  leaves and any kind of mildew will again make them take a hit.

still nore feasible than solar freakin roadways lol that shame was dumb as fudge lol

teslas promise is different.  with tesla they are also selling you energy storage (battery) which is a lot different then the current gen of solar roofs where the meter runs forwards and backwards.

telsa is promising a solution that allows you to fully disconnect from the grid. aka fudge what electric companies what because you'll have no contract with them.

i want that future soo badly even though it means i'll probably lose my job since i services the electric and oil companies.

They're going to have a few month long battery?
