Or maybe it's not too much work.
No, no, no having to make a Pro version is literally the worst thing that could happen to developers, it's a huge hassle for them. Now the Scorpio however, that's going to be a dream for devs. /s

They just don't want to have people be upset at them for not hitting 4K/doing a less than perfect upgrade.

Doesn't matter what "we" are doing. It's likely CDPR is avoiding a pro patch just so that the pro patch wouldn't be a disappointment.

That doesn't make any sense. Stick to the actual topic. Your making weird excuses like 'they just would want the highest quality possible!" that don't need to be made.  A developer can put out a barebones checkerboard rendering pro patch and not have it be a disappointment in the least. I don't understand where your going with that.

QuoteFor Paragon on PS4 Pro, Epic has added dynamic lighting along with enhanced geometry and scene complexity. The game also utilizes new volumetric effects such as light shafts and fog; motion blur; enhanced HLOD (hierarchical level of detail) and increased view distance; screen space reflections; contact shadows; procedural grass; and advanced light bloom.

"From a rendering perspective it lets us more closely realize our vision for the game by reducing the number of compromises we have to make for performance," he said.

Paragon runs at a rock solid 60fps in full 1080p on PS4 Pro... [Nirolak's Note: It's normally 900p/60fps.]

Quoteames that are already available for PS4, such as Paragon, which is in Open Beta, can still take advantage of PS4 Pro capabilities thanks to the console's forward compatibility.

"Supporting PS4 Pro for enhanced 1080 is as easy as enabling the support in the Sony publishing tools," according to Marcus Wassmer, Epic's core rendering team lead.

"Unreal Engine 4.13 is already fully capable of taking advantage from that perspective. Doing this will give you an immediate large performance boost on a title running on PS4 Pro. What you choose to do with the extra performance is totally up to you."

TES:O patch released today.
The Elder Scrolls Online just released the PS4 Pro Patch - NeoGAF

QuoteToday marks the launch of One Tamriel (the biggest patch ever made for the game) on consoles and ZOS decided to release the PS4 Pro improvements along with it. Is this game the first "old" (pre-2016) game to release the Pro enhancements prior to the official launch? Here are the patch notes:

Knack Pro confirmed.

QuoteNear the end of the meeting, Cerny pulled up Knack, his PS4 launch title, side by side on two HDTVs. One game was running on a PS4 Pro and the other on a standard PS4. The differences were obvious: The PS4 Pro resolved cleaner lines and animations while the standard PS4 scene had more noise, particularly in detailed areas and backgrounds.

Cerny started with the Pro, picking up the controller and saying, "So if we look at the scene, again, it's very clean, smooth. But if I were to do this on -- " he switched to the PS4 TV and sighed. "Look at all the moiré, or all of the shimmery noise in the distance. And this is what we see when we play games on an HDTV and we've learned to ignore it."
