I just got the new star ocean in the other day although I'm currently trying Ico out.

I like all kinds but I never had playstations so I'm unfamiliar with a lot of jrpgs and other series that are associated with it.
I have a PS3 slim but it was my first PlayStation and my wife gave it to me as a present because I had just tossed a 360 in the trash can while on a rant.
I do own two ps4s so I've decided to try games out I always hear people talk about.
During the height of the PlayStation era I mostly played on PC.
In fact before the 360 came out the last console I had purchased was an NES. I guess civilization was somewhat addicting? dang you Sid Meir! Lol.

If you haven't played any Quantic Dream games I'd advise to play some of those. Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy in the US), Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls and epic experiences if you don't mind QTE. Metal Gear Solids are great in you can handle the slow starts and a load of cut scenes, which personally I didn't mind. MGS3 is my favourite for story but the new MGSV has by far the best gameplay out of all of them. MGS4 was great and loved the story but the boss battles were uninspired for a MGS game.

I would recommend getting the KH1.5 and 2.5 remixes on the PS3. They should help you understand the context of KH2.8 once you get that.
