I just wanna know how their studios are run sometimes, is there nobody that checks if things are going according to plan over there until it's to late? How can it be that they constantly notice that they aren't hitting their deadlines after they announced their release dates or windows.

I can imagine the conversation between development and management
Management: "How long will this take?"
Developers "4 months"
Management: "You mean 2, now get to work"
2 months later
Management: "Why isn't his done?  You've been working 100 hour weeks."
Developers "The 4 months included 100 work weeks..."
Management: "O_O"

I'm always impressed that game actually finally released.

Haha, yeah.  The game went through so much, it's a miracle it released at all.  

At least 2 different game engines, 4 different teams, and 15 years in the making.
