Shipping these things out to retailers takes some time. Some places just got their stock faster.

Sure but other slims have released closer to announcement and had far less leaks.

Yeah, I mean at some point it's really just a point of luck I'd say. Sony can't control every single retailer, it's always possible for something to slip through the cracks.

Xbo could win 4 NPDs in a row. July, August, September, and October.

September will be close but with the PS4 slim being $300, xbo with Forza Horizon 3 and their own $300 slim could still win.

October has psvr and tlg for Sony, but Xbo has Gears 4. Considering their recent momentum, it should be an easy Xbo win.

We'll see, I wouldn't bet on it. Slim with Uncharted 4 for $300, all other stock being discounted to get rid of it should both boost the PS4 well. I don't think Forza will shift a significant amount of consoles. Also I don't know if the X1s current momentum will still matter in October, or even exist. They are riding a high right now, with Sony having a number of bad PR moments and blunders. That shame isn't holding forever unless the blunders keep continuing and by now we really have everything possible out of the way unless they go and delay TLG or VR now as well.
