It is common in this industry when something changes.
I meant the sticker part.

QuoteConfirmed. And wow, the game actually went gold and they simply want to "ship the game with a big day one patch" in the disc instead of forcing the download

Permanently lost a customer. Hope it flops and the franchise is buried for good

The obsession with ridiculous and useless technicalities is yet another nail in the slow-moving coffin of AAA development. I will enjoy the bubble burst

Wait wait. Hold up. Is Rorono saying that shipping the game with the day one patch rather than making players download it is a bad thing? ???

Rorono is saying something, I don't think he's really thought that comment through. He'll get over it anyway, just like he got over his anger at the Orders reception which made him decide to "never buy AAA games again".

I wonder how big this patch is that they have to include it on the disk?

Probably just trying to avoid some backlash for having a mandatory day 1 patch.

I sometimes get day -5 patches.  You're never going to truly get rid of bugs.  A patch being planned isn't necessarily bad.  It's that they found bugs after they pressed the games.  That gives them a 3 week buffer to do final touch ups.  2 months of touch ups?  Something isn't right.

Yeah patches are fun, but it's sucky when the disc version is so bad that without patches it's practically unplayable. With a 2 month delay they don't want people knowing what state the game was in without the patch.

They will have day one patch... we can already expect that.
