Quote from: nnodley on Jul 08, 2016, 01:49 AMI exclusively get my games through amazon now.  Lots of deals plus being a prime member for $99 and I get $10 off any game I preorder or buy within 2 weeks of release is so worth it.  Already probably saved well over $100 on games I've gotten through amazon in the past 5 months or so.
Yeah, the deal is too good to pass up. I can wait on the mail. It's no big deal when I get a decent discount. It's actually caused me to purchase quite a few steelbook games, because they come out at normal price when you apply the amazon discount. I'm a sucker for a steelbook case....  ::)

Yeah I've gotten multiple collectors editions with statues like Uncharted 4's and preordered horizon zero dawn's.  Horizon's is costing me $100 instead of ~$130 without prime.

If only they were more mainstream today. I am starting to hate how only some games have them, leading to it sticking out on your shelf, yet some companies are too cheap to leave the plastic cases in the dust.

Don't matter anyways

One of the best videos ever.
Your comment made me actually watch it. I expected it to at least be decent...

You can't have watched many videos ;D

I guess you just don't get British humor.  ;D

Confirms the devs don't care about the distinction between universe and galaxy lol.

Also for once finally shows a bit of variety with alien life!

EDT: shows a lot of nitpicking bugs still.

13s flies through asteroid

17s all/the majority of the cacti are identical, just rotated

24s repeating cacti again, and repeating trees in the far right

28s odd graphics glitch to the left of the center for just one frame, the object is missing there.

29s seemingly more repeating trees

44s seemingly three more repeated trees in the same area

60s everything jumps when the cockpit closes. Probably shortened the sequence lol

1:05 really small planet

Basically they have the worst tree variety I've seen in a game for years. It's a procedural game and yet they don't procedurally generated tree variety? That seems really weird.

Not even excited for this game, and I'm already a little disappointed.
So they likely just made a couple of unique tree models that are supposed to be used for different areas, and the game just randomly places the correct tree model in an area?  That's what you are somewhat telling me?

At least I can still make my game with procedurally generated trees.

Well the trees are procedurally generated, but the procedural generation system seems to only create a million different species, not a million different varieties of each species.

The 4 arm cactus in the front middle is identical to the 4 arm cactus to the right, and to seemingly every other cactus. This planet is the only place you can find this cactus, but on this planet all instances are just the same model copy pasted.

Yes your game is still needed!

British humour isn't really a thing

Well it isn't anymore.  You killed it.

The new trailer showed a planet transition from surface to space, and some people have used that to guestimate a diameter of 50 or 90 miles.

In 2014 I guesstimated a planet's diameter at 80 miles. My wonky math back then may have been right lol.

As a dev I'm curious how they are doing those textures. Looks much better than most ground textures from a distance.

Also the depth limit has been confirmed 128 meters.
