Kaiju (Japanese Monster Movies) Discussion.

Decided to start this because it seems like no one here has talked about it before. I am talking mainly about films made only in Japan, unlike the american rendition of Godzilla in 2014 and the abysmal 1998 catastrophe. I doubt this forum has many Kaiju/ Monster Movie fans yet it doesn't hurt to see. If you have never seen an actual Kaiju film besides Pacific Rim, I recommend you look to and watch Cinnemassacre's Monster Madness Godzillathon which I will link below. It is sad to see how many people in America and Europe who would enjoy these movies have always considered them cheesy due to the rubber suits filled with an actor. These movies are imaginative and intriguing (at least most of the Japanese movies are) and I highly recommend that you give them a chance, even though they are completely different from the American film you have been introduced to most likely, which is lots of CGI. To start off our discussion, lets talk about our favorite Kaiju. Mine is Destroyah, because he is fudging awesome.

What's happening with this new Godzilla movie from Japan?

Its being made by Toho, who created all the other Japanese Godzilla movies, including the original 1954 film. I am 99 percent sure they are going back to the rubber suit, yet adding some CGI. I hope the new Japanese dubbed movie will be in theaters and do well to start a new era for the movies.  It has been confirmed to be released in some European countries, I am praying it will come to America. The public seems to like Godzilla after the 2014 movie, which I didn't care for.

I know Toho was doing it.  I was just wondering how it was progressing.  I know they're going back to the suit.  Godzilla looks weird though from what I was looking at.  Fun fact, the 1998 movie Godzilla looked the way it did because Toho wouldn't give Hollywood Godzilla's likeness.  The 2014 movie was a good starting point.  It just needed more Godzilla.
