Yeah. I like that this Kratos is much more tempered. He's not a walking rage machine. He has a new family and is doing his best to raise his kid. Whether this is an adoptive situation or his actual family, doesn't matter. Kratos has moved on and he can be related to much easier now.

He'll get pulled back. The kid is anchoring him right now. Remove him and kratos will be kill machine again.

Kratos is the playable character.

well in that video you also played as the kid during the bow part and the kid earned skill points for the shot.  i'm not so certain i'd say kratos is the playable character.  i feel like the bulk of the game you could be playing as the kid.  he is in training afterall.

anyways,. with GoW going so different i think i may finally buy the GoW3 remaster.  i like the new direction but i also liked the old direction.

Yeah the trailer teased playing as the kid with the subtlety of a hand grenade.

If they were really trying to do a MGS2 twist or TLOU surprise, they wouldn't have showed this gameplay imo.

i'm indifferent.  i really like kratos but the kid could be cool too.  what i like about the idea of the kid though is many of the known convensions of GoW could be tossed aside.  some people wanted a new GoW.  some people wanted a new IP.  i feel like this trends in the middle.

but yeah,.. i'm pretty sure the next scene in the game is a flash forward about 10 years and then something happens to kratos and the kid starts his mission to save or revenge his father.  as he goes powers awaken in him (aka gameplay progression).  seems painfully obvious to me.

Yeah that sounds likely and awesome, something similar to that will probably happen. Although I reckon we'll get more Kratos at the start of the game than just 10 minutes

I agree with you on what the gameplay showed, but the devs in interviews are denying that we play as anyone but Kratos.

At 1:30 he clarifies we play as Kratos for the whole game without being prompted. If we played as the kid, I feel they'd be teasing it in interviews just like in the gameplay.

If it was true, same reason as TLoU.  It's really awesome when you play as someone else for a chapter.  Because at that point, it means something.

No I agree it's awesome, but TLOU didn't tease it with the reveal trailer.
