Yeah. It's not exactly official but I doubt it's false. Only 3 months out sounds believable for a game originally scheduled for a Spring release.

Is this a sign the game isn't as big as many expect?

Actually looks great!

I was going to say... are you being sarcastic?

Honestly though, you can't blame people for thinking that way. The people working on the game had been known lately for producing lower budget titles and Microsoft's recent history of releasing CG trailers for dead end projects and to mask over the current situation of the project made it easy for people to think that way.

For their sake it better not be, cause going from literally nothing to releasing 3 months after actually showing the game (as in the actual game) to the world for the first time is quite frankly suicide for a new AAA IP from a no name studio.

I've been thinking since day one that Microsoft was trying to make the game bigger than it is.

The screenshot looks great compared to my expectations, but looks pretty bad compared to AAA. That's the Unity engine alright.

I don't think it would really matter when they release it. Most people don't actually know who Remedy is and they had years to promote their new IP. We know how that turned out. Xbox is surviving on the back of North American Xbox fans and the ones who just happened to choose Xbox One for one reason or another. The only way this game sells well is if its gameplay debut drops jaws.

EDIT: OR... if the PC market takes a shine to it.

Well true MS is pretty shame at marketing this gen, but they didn't exactly help QB by setting the review embargo so early just to then get pretty average reviews. And they aren't helping Recore either if they only give it 3 months to actually catch peoples attention, like you said their first showing would have to be phenomenal for that to happen and if the last few years are anything to go by then you can forget that. They could have easily showed some gameplay back in February or March to get people going somewhat, but what they are doing here looks like a great way for the game to get completely buried tomorrow and then not sell anything in September.

I expected it to be more stylized with my low expectations.

I'm reserving judgement until I see the game in motion. Just like Halo Wars 2.

In motion the aliasing will be even worse  ::)
