E3 2016 megathread!

Why am I not feeling the hype??? I should stop reading threads on r/xboxone, the growing fanboyism and general stupidity around there is giving me a headache, if I see another person trying to justify how a Nintendo Xbox could totally happen, I might just get up and punch my roommate.

The best thing you can ever do for yourself is avoid areas you know are cesspools for fanboyism and just stick to places that talk about the facts. One thing about fanboyism is that it has a nasty effect on your own bias. Everyone has a preference but watching someone act like a fanboy against what you like can cause you to become a fanboy yourself if you're exposed to it long enough. You end up becoming just as miserable and pathetic as they are. Instead of being an actual gamer you end up becoming a cheerleader for a company that doesn't give a shame about you, no matter how much you want to believe they do.

During the 6th generation I owned every console and didn't give a crud what other people thought. I wanted to play the games that interested me. From Dreamcast to Xbox. Sure, PlayStation 2 was my preference because the previous gen gave me a soft spot for Sony and the games released for it appealed to me more, but I never bristled at the thought of the other platforms. What they had and how well they were doing. Understand that the vast majority of these fanboys can't and won't be swayed by you. So, you waste your breath on them. As far as them influencing other people, the people they meet personally there is NOTHING you can do and the people going to the same sites they are will be much more informed and unlikely to buy their battleship.

Just look at the success of the PlayStation 4. Fanboys have been trying to downplay it and tear it down for years. Yet their platform is either dead or stagnating while PS4 is rocking. The next time you worry about misinformation and stupidity, just remember that 3 years of it didn't slow down Sony at all. Don't let those idiots drag you into their personal hell and ruin your love for games. It would be a dang shame for you to miss out on a great experience because someone else is mentally ill.

Yeah, even small road trips cost good money. Im going to the maker fair at the end of the month in KC, even getting my room for free im still looking at spending 300, its only 3.5 hours away.
