I can definitely believe that XB1 drop. Its having a bad year here.

Good that PS4 is still up otherwise this would be an awful year.

I wonder what PS4 was before U4 released.

It was likely still up YOY, but by a smaller percentage.

Yeah, it looks like the XB1 has already peaked and is facing a decline.

Hopefully it was up.

If XBO already peaked before the leaks yesterday, ouch. Could it even make it to 40 million lifetime?

If the rumor of Microsoft announcing the Scorpio at E3 and releasing it late 2017 is true, then I doubt it will.

40 million would be an achievement from their disastrous start. I pegged them at 30m before the 180s.

Nah man, the Scorpio is going to turn all of that around, the console war is over, the Xbox One is going to crush everything....and some people actually believe this.

I really don't know where the X1 will end up, with MS apparently making the thing entirely unnecessary with their push towards PC gaming. If all their games are actually going to end up on Windows 10, why would anyone get an X1? Well I can see some reasons for the standard/slim version simply because it'll likely be fairly cheap, but what price would MS have to hit with the Scorpio to make it worth over just getting a PC, which gets all the same games and more, which is a lot more versatile and where you don't have to pay a subscription for MP? The PS4 and NX will always at least have the advantage of offering worthwile experiences to customers that are exclusive to these systems and that can't be played on PC, but if the X1 takes that away, then what reason for owning it is even left at that point, aside from that misguided idea that PC gaming is "Oh, so complicated"?

I mean I'm not against the idea of mid generation hardware updates, if done right, and I know that there are always people that simply don't want to game on PC, but if you start updating consoles more frequently and then take away games that distinguish them from the PC, then I feel that the number of people sticking with your console brand is just going to erode over time.

The XB1 has to be very lucky to hit 30m before the Scorpio comes out.

The Scorpio will solve the lack of power, but having the worse versions of multiplats was not the XB1's biggest problem. Consumers still buy the XB1 versions of multiplat games in droves. The XB1's biggest problems are its monotonous library and substantial overlap with the PC. Iterations aren't going to bring more Japanese games to the Xbox platform. Increasing the number terraflops 4x isn't going to solve Microsoft's lackluster relationships with indie devs. And as you said, with the large XB1 and PC overlap, what's the point? I can get a PC that can play MS Studios' games, play games from Steam, and do non-gaming tasks.

The PlayStation platform is also becoming more PC-like, but Sony has a lot of first party developers. It still gets some 3rd party exclusives, particularly from Japanese devs, though who knows how much longer that will last. PSVR will get some exclusives such as Ace Combat 7, hence you need to get a PS4 or PS4K.

Yeah. A significant issue I see with Microsoft's new direction is that it alienates their console from the crowd of people who own decent rigs. For anyone looking to PC and console game, like I do, there is zero incentive to pick up an XB1.

Granted, that crowd isn't enormous but it's still a crowd and the XB1 is already in a position where it can't afford to lose prospective owners. Microsoft is ensuring that. It's already suffering from a lackluster library with large gaps in notable releases every year.

Also the thing is that I don't see people being eager to jump on a new console as their main machine by even late 2017. I have a PS4 and unless I'm given a great trade-in offer I don't see myself getting a PS4 Neo by late 2017, after all my PS4 still works more than well enough, and I reckon many X1 owners feel similarly. So who'd you aim this at? People that don't own a current gen gaming system at all? Those will be very few by late 2017 I think, which leaves you with people looking for a secondary gaming system. But if you're invested enough in gaming to own more than one gaming system per gen, then why wouldn't you just build a PC instead of getting a Scorpio as it's clearly superior in every way?

NeoGAF - View Single Post -  PAL Charts - Week 20, 2016

QuoteBased on our Uncharted 4 estimates Overwatch has debuted selling between 56,000 and 74,000 units.
 PS4 (47%)
 XBO (36%)
 PC (18%)

Honestly way lower than I expected.

Also Uncharted 4 only dropped 37% this week (less than UC3 did in week 3) and R&C is up 114% due to some retailer bundles.

I didn't think it was possible but could Uncharted 4 take first place this NPD over Overwatch after all?
