E3 could be a big game changer, but so far, what company do you belive is having a better year exclusive wise alone?

Interesting lists

Aura7541

Shouldn't Ori and the Blind Forest not be in that list? I hardly find the definitive edition a justified enough reason to consider it a 2016 game.

Raven

E3 could be a game changer? You're not going to turn around a shaming year like 2016 has already been for Xbox by making announcements of games that aren't here yet when right now the competition already has close to 50 games you don't have, 28 of which are at least currently exclusive to that platform, with none of your own actual exclusives. Unless you want me to believe that by E3 we'll somehow magically know that the games coming later in the year will be any good. If you're nurturing any hope that its total lineup will outpace the competition in the quantity department this year, I'd go ahead and drown that thing right now.

The best Xbox game by far is a re-release of an indie-style game that came out last year, which had some stuff added to it and given a retail package. Which is also available on PC. Looking ahead, we already know this Summer is loaded with games coming as exclusive or console exclusive to PS4, with some of those console exclusives having PC versions that won't come until later. That's just from now until September. We know GT Sport is coming in November and The Last Guardian is rumored to be an October release. Those will sit alongside many other games that are coming for PS4 from developers who, for one reason or another, are shunning Xbox. Then we have PSVR coming which opens up a whole new library of games for those who will shell out the cash for it.

If you're the kind of Xbox fan who prided themselves on their purchase because you believed you were going to have the best and most numerous options for console gaming available, this is a terrible time to be you. This generation isn't likely to get any better. Not with multiple project cancellations, studio closures, lack of third party exclusivity deals, and a software lineup that has been a disappointment for two and a half years and counting. If you have even a decent PC with Windows 10, there is virtually no reason to own an Xbox One thanks to the direction Microsoft is taking the Xbox division. I would even say at this point that even if you don't have a decent PC, I still wouldn't recommend an Xbox One based on its current library and the future isn't looking bright enough at all to change that.

When is the next xbox one exclusive? Is gears the only one they have this year?

Whater they show at e3. But its looking pretty bad.

The XB1 library overlapping too much with PC is not the only problem. It's also lacking on multiple genres. The fighting genre is one of them. While Killer Instinct is doing great, it's only one game. Mortal Kombat X and Dead or Alive 5: Last Round are also available on the PS4 and PC. Street Fighter V, while it didn't sell all that well, is only on PS4 and PC. Over the next months, the PS4 will be getting Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator and The King of Fighters XIV. Tekken is rumored to be skipping the XB1.

It is even worse when it comes to JRPGs. The XB1 is the absolute worst console for this genre. The only JRPGs I can think off the top of my head are FF Type-0 and Stranger in the Sword City. The former is available on the PS4/PC and the PS4 version outsold the XB1 by a 4 to 1 ratio in the US. Stranger in the Sword City is digital-only on the XB1, but you can get it physically on the Vita. Not only does the XB1 lack JRPGs even when counting multiplats, but the gap between them is large. Type-0 came out in March 17, 2015. Stranger in the Sword City came out in March 22, 2016. The next JRPG the XB1 is getting is FFXV, which doesn't come out until September 30. This is not sufficient enough to retain the JRPG fanbase. In fact, it's absolutely pathetic.

Compare that to what the PS4 has gotten/will be getting.

While the vast majority of the JRPGs I've listed are niche, there is enough to go around throughout 2015 and 2016. That helps retain and perhaps, even grow the JRPG fanbase on the PS4.

It's the only one confirmed for this year. Likely anything they announce at E3 will have a PC version. Forza 6 just got a PC beta and Halo 5's Forge is getting a PC release which is awfully dang close to confirming a PC version of the actual game. The head of The Coalition did entertain the idea of a PC version of Gears 4 and the Gears 1 remaster already got a PC release.

Hell, you even missed some on that list. Like World of Final Fantasy which is confirmed console exclusive to PS4, handheld exclusive to Vita, with a possible PC version later. Nioh could possibly release this year as well. Though whether that qualifies as JRPG is debatable. Like Bloodborne.

dang, how could I have forgotten about World of FF. I think Toukiden 2 is also likely to come out this year.

Just saw the video and man, I'm surprised how Driv3rgate was swept under the rug for a scandal that big.
