Wii U will be the first Nintendo system I don't want

I was going to say "never owned" at first but that requires some qualifiers since I only owned a GB, GBColor, and DS (my sister's that I never play) so I don't buy handheld really. Also, I never owned a game cube but that generation I fell out of gaming (teen years spent outside skateboarding and such so all those system never really existed to me because none of them had any mindshare) and picked it back up with the ps3. Also, a Wii U fire sale might change my wanting. But it'd need to be dirt cheap like 150 dollars and it'd be for my 5 year old.

Now that I have explained the qualifiers, I have always considered myself a Nintendo fan (GASP! Tell that to vgc lol). I grew up with NES, Genesis, SNES and a 64. I owned a PS that got limited play time with Tomb Raider (never beat) GT, Resident Evil (never beat) and FF7. Most of my time was spent with Wave Race, Mario 64, Golden eye, OoT, smash and a slew of others. N64 was my favorite console till PS3.

But I was never interested in the Wii U. Why? Well, I bought a Wii and MK and Zelda with it. The waggle was horrid and detracted from the games. They weren't fun. I beat Zelda (worst one I've played) and never touched the thing again. Why would I want the follow up console? Now, it seems most people regard Wii U as the worst Nintendo system of all time like I did with the Wii... If any of the 14m Wii U owners have the same sentiments I had with the Wii then Nintendo has a rough time ahead trying to convince people to hop on board. So far, they are tripping over themselves with lack of info, lack of E3 presence, and lack of Wii U support.

Cut the shame Nintendo. The strength of your business relies on it

TBH I've wanted WiiU more than I wanted Wii. Still not enough to buy it for that ridiculous price lol.

I did buy it for $150.  It was awesome.

But yeah, the Wii U's normal price is way too high and the games are too little to really want.  Eeds either more games or lower price (or both).
It's really a shame.

I take it you never owned a Wii. I can tell you if you did then Wii U would be less desirable after owning the hot garbage such as the Wii.

It needs much more than that. But games and lower price would have certainly put it on the right track and got things moving along with the other things being addressed later.

I would probably buy one if I could get one for $150. That's pocket change lol. Too bad the support here is terrible as there is really only one store that supplies us with Nintendo products and the prices are outrageous.
Let me check what a WiiU costs here now. Only premium packs available with Mario or Xenoblade for $490. Nice

i grew up a nintendo fan.  i honestly thought i'd eventually pick up a wiiU because, i dunno, i'm rich and why not.  but the wiiU cost too much still.  there are too few games.  the games cost too much for being so old.

i dunno,.. charging premium prices for inferior technology just rubs me the wrong way.

maybe i'll pick up an NX.  re-releasing all their wiiU games on NX would certainly help.  nintendo is an ever other generation console for me now.  i really wish they'd just go 3rd party.  they would complement MSony so well in the games they make.  ..but things as they are nintendo is just not compelling enough to want to buy hardware just for their games.

Smash and super mario 3d world made it too good to pass up for me.

Has some other fun games too once you own the system. It's overpriced, but not undesirable.
