"Nintendo will transform its booth at the E3 video game trade show next month in Los Angeles to immerse fans in the world of the newest game in The Legend of Zelda franchise – playable for the first time ever at the show. To ensure attendees are able to truly experience the freedom of exploration the game offers, The Legend of Zelda for Wii U will be Nintendo's focus of the show this year, and will be the only playable game in Nintendo's booth via extended demos."

Is there some news that doesn't say "only playable game"?
We have already had this news otherwise.  They said that like a week or two ago that Zelda would be the only playable game.  Wondering if there will be some nonplayable games that they will show, because every time I see this news it always says " only playable game".

the gave out E3 details, and they didnt say there will be a show/direct. so basically up until now we know there wont be one, or else they would have stated it along side their other E3 plans.

Was it the games or hardware that wasn't ready?
Nintendo needs a conference to show their stuff.  Just seems stupid to pass over E3.

Most Likely both.

Irrelevant, there is no reason they can't have trailers or demo that say "alpha build" ready by E3. They also have to have concepts for hardware they could release without revealing the box so we'd actually know what it fudgy is

They aren't even showing 3DS games?
-Pokemon Sun and Moon
-Dragon Quest XI
-Ace Attorney 6
-Professor Layton

They could be keeping something under the table to show off at E3.  I keep seeing that there's no "playable" games, that doesn't mean there aren't other games.

They made some strange comment recently.  Overall, I think they want to show the box when it's ready.  It doesn't sound like something that they can just come up and say well we did this and this.  It's something they'll have to show us altogether.

Seems it might just be miscommunication.

The ESA saying a Nintendo Direct is coming June 14 - NeoGAF

QuoteThis was posted in one of the E3 threads, but I thought it could do with its own thread. The ESA posted this via Facebook and Twitter today, May 17:/Sources: https://www.facebook.com/E3Expo/phot...type=3&theater https://twitter.com/E3/status/732594766400098304
I was under the impression there would be no Nintendo Direct broadcast, and only a live stream by the Treehouse Team. This could of course be a miscommunication considering it's coming not from first party (Nintendo).
The press release of May 05 said this:
QuoteNintendo’s kickoff to the E3 show happens at 9 a.m. PT Tuesday, June 14, when Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime introduces Nintendo Treehouse: Live, which will be dedicated to a day of live-streamed gameplay of The Legend of Zelda
