Quote from: Raven on Apr 29, 2016, 06:10 PMDude, it's not just about which front it's on. It's so much more than that. That time period is boring for the weaponry used compared to more modern or future times. Bi-planes? Really? WW2 aircraft were simplistic enough. Let's fight in crop dusters! Going that far back is a huge gamble considering the number of Battlefield fans who want another modern shooter or a sequel/spiritual successor to 2142. Hardline already upset enough people.
There is a crud ton of essentially forgoten weapons during that period.  tons of rifles, weird machine guns, shotguns, ad in a variety of rifle sights, bayonettes, mag size, hell seeing a periscope gun would be awesome

there were dozens of trial tanks,  some really crazy looking things

dont forget poison gas.. and not only were there a variety of bi-planes, but also zeppelin bombers lol  and if they figure out a way to include artillery, like needing a spotter plane to call it in.. that would be awesome.

Rumors had it that both this and titanfall 2 would release this year. I wonder if that's true. Titanfall got announced earlier than this, so it makes me wonder

I want an older game.

Civil War or older!

I can see it now:
*Fires*
*Takes 3 minutes to reload*
*Fires*
*Starts reloading, halfway through gets shot*

Okay, not really. It didn't really take that long.

Alternate history with even a slight sci-fi or "this shame definitely wasn't around then" angle to it would be way better.

sounds like the world itself wont be to alternate,  just the weapons.  which i would actually prefer.   the settings during the war were so vast they have alot to work with.  deserts, forests, mountains, snow,  trenches,  sea + air.   This includes massive attacks on forts.

...you do realize you'd get those same environments in a highly alternate setting, right? The alternate part refers to the story and the powers involved. It's not talking about the terrain.
