Quote from: DerNebel on Mar 02, 2016, 04:22 AMYea, now I really want to see that post launch sales PR.

Also this makes me more likely to get R&C at launch. Dark Souls 3 would take too much of my time to fit in before UC4 even now, but $40 R&C? Sure why not.

Edit: Lol, just checked the Neogaf thread and its retard city, people saying Sony are lying with the manufacturing issue and that it's just to give ND more time again.
Seems like a battleship excuse to me. They haven't announced they went gold yet, so they are still working on it, meaning they aren't finished, and wouldn't be able to ship in time.

Basically another development delay, with a lame excuse of "we need to make enough physical disc"

Yeah... Sure seems like it

WWWHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYY

Even though we have to wait longer there's lots of good news in this. It no longer clashes with DS3 and R&C and I now also won't get it 3 days after you Americans. That's nice.

instead of getting it 3 days after americans, you get it 11 days later than you originally would.

I also won't be getting super jealous of all the people playing it before me and my chance of seeing spoilers will be greatly reduced. So I'm fairly happy.

well, for me, this delay caused me to miss out on a chance of getting the SSpecial Edition Uncharted, because by then my cousin would have been back from the USA, and they dont get regular editions here.

and regardless, if they would have just waited a bit before announcing the march, the April release dates, this whole thing would have been a lot less annoying.

at this pace, we would be lucky to get 2 ND games this gen, when last gen we got 4

Yeah they really should hold off on release dates for longer. I think they've learned from this as we don't know release dates for most upcoming sony games yet.

You may be right and its a shame, I'd like to see at least 3

The blog post literally says that the game's on track to go gold this month. I can easily see Sony underestimating UC4 demand as I think it's signifcantly higher than for the last Uncharted game, so Sony might have been in disbelieve that it's actually going to be that high and were expecting pre orders to slow down at some point (it's not really economically smart to expect the 4th game in your popular game series to suddenly see like 50% growth in first week sales game over game unless you're absolutely sure). You could call out Sony for not realizing this sooner but I have no problem believing that UC4 is going to ship significantly above their initial forecast and that their manufacturers don't have the resources to just make a million or more extra copies and even several 10000 extra special edition consoles or so in time.

Besides I think this'd be a stupid thing to lie about.

the game isnt even gold yet, they havent started production of disks to have production issues. they could have easily just increased the order on discs from the manufacturer. we are a full 8 weeks away from the now delayed april launch. that seems like a heck of a lot of time to get work on any disk production issues.

the excuse reeks of battleship, because it obviously is. what ever caused that delay from march to april, has apparently taken more time, and they didnt want to admit that.

They delayed it twice already under the excuse it needs more time. So we know they have no problem with it. Two weeks worth of work will be nothing. They are going into production this month as usual. It sounds like production issues. If you know you'll sell out of initial stock almost immediately, then why ship it so soon? If people can't get their hands on a new copy because of shortages then they'll buy used.

While I'm not denying that NG could have asked more time there are things that goes against this theory...

1. For a April 26th launch the game have a big window to goes gold in March... it can go gold in the last day of March and be safe for the launch... most games go gold 15-20 days before release.

2. We are in a day one digital patch age... if ND needed more time they could go gold with the state it was now, release this version on April 26th with a big GB patch with the work they did few days before April 26th... they don't need to finish the game when it goes gold... they have time to work and release a day one patch until the launch day.

These are my point... of couse maybe they just asked more 2 weeks to be safe... it is a option too.

And I doubt we get another uncharted anyway.

And we only got 3 by ND last gen

Not 4

What?

We already know we aren't getting another Uncharted and ND released 4 games last gen.

It is the first time ND works with the same franchise across generations... well it was the first time to put two franchises in the same generation with PS3.... everything can happen.

But I agree it is the last Uncharted and the next game will be TLOU2.

After that I expect to see another NG game this gen... TLOU3? Or a new IP?

I hope they make a new IP and I don't know if I want them to make TLOU2 or not. I'd rather they just went with what the team wants and have fun, rather than thinking they have to make TLOU2 because the first did so well.

I feel like Sony will want them to make more TLOU though for the $$$
