Quote from: DerNebel on Feb 22, 2016, 05:25 PMYou never played a Persona game, well let me tell you're going to love it.

Also you're new here right? Welcome, did you come from vgchartz or did you find the forum another way?

Horizon got it, why didn't you?

Also, real talk Gran Turismo Sport hype isn't exactly through the roof at the moment.

Yes I am excited to try one out. I do not have much experience with JRPG's apart from S04 which I actually enjoyed, I am pretty tolerable to a lot of stuff so not even the bad story deterred me. The other JPRG's I have played are Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey but I never got far in both. I am told Persona is the pinnacle of JPRG's though, so I have to try it out.

Nope I do not know really what vgchartz is apart from their much maligned reputation is providing false sales statistics. I just found Vizioneck searching for game forums though I might have spotted you on GAF. I also use UnionVGF but that is too xbox orientated for my tastes.

Yes I do not think we will see GT Sport till TGS or PGW too. Maybe at E3 but do Americans even like racing sims any more?

You should try out Persona 3 FES and/or Persona 4 (Golden if you have a Vita). They're very long games, but both of their stories are really good.

And welcome to the forums :)

Well if you have the opportunity you should definitely check out Persona 3 and 4 (I personally like 4 more, but I've heard differing opinions), if you have a PS3 then Ni No Kuni is another JRPG that I can fully recommend and if you're interested in going even farther back into the genre then there's tons of great stuff on SNES, PS1 and PS2.

It's kinda funny how you don't know what vgchartz is considering that about 90% of the members of this forum come from there, so if you ever see us talking about a person that you don't know about then we're probably talking about the chartz again. :D

Yeah GT and racing in general has lost a lot steam in NA in the last couple years but it's still huge in Europe and I think South America as well. but if they're keeping true to their word then we have to see GT Sport before any of these events anyway since they've announced a beta for early 2016 when they announced the game. Who knows how that'll work out.

I'm fairly hyped for GT Sport. I'll definitely be getting it. I hope they show more at e3, I don't think e3 is just for American audiences, since lots of people worldwide watch it.

Mmm_fish_tacos

If you have to pick one, then pick Persona 4 golden.

You probably will, I'm not that great. Especially at realistic racing sims. ;)

I do not have a Vita or PS2 so I cannot play P4, guess I will wait for P5 and join the hype train :P

Ahh right,  I guess there was an exodus due to how bad the forums became?

Yes GT is still massive in Europe and big in Asia I think. No idea about South America though. Maybe something will be announced in March or April with triple whammy of UC4, Ratchet and Clank and GT Sport Beta.

You could call it an exodus, yea. A lot of us left the place due to different reasons, it's a shell of what it used to be today.

Do you have a PS3? Persona 3 FES and Persona 4 are available on PSN.

I stopped going to Chartz on a consistent basis because it became a warzone. I would sometimes login to participate in political discussions, but that's about it.

NeoGAF is not much better either for two reasons. The first is that the forum has become quite obsessed with social justice. The second is the mod team's extremely poor handling of NPD George/NDP_Mulcair's ban. I've rarely posted there ever since.

I think you should invest in the Persona 4 Golden player. It's a small little box that plays Persona 4 Golden on a T.V. You can even sync a PS3 and PS4 controller to it.  P.S. I'm talking about PS TV :P.  You should be able to find one cheap.  Plus Chie's voice in Golden is way better than in the original (She seriously makes me laugh every time she talks, and she's almost identical to her Japanese VA)

I would like to play it but I have about 20 PS4 games on my backlog with more to come. Maybe I will consider it if there is a drought in summer my backlog is drastically reduced.

Anyway talking of sales. I did a challenge in Gravity Rush remastered and came like 60,900. So we know there is a minimum sold of 60,000 which is much better than how Tearaway fared.

That's actually pretty good. I'm still a bit salty over how little Tearaway sold >_<

Tearaway was sent to die. SCEA did not care about it. SCEE somewhat cared about it but it was hardly marketed really. It really should have been an August and anything after was sending it to die. Plus I feel like the audience which might embrace this game (the family gamers) are not on a console which still costs £300 or $350.
