Quote from: Legend on Feb 18, 2016, 03:03 AMWalking in space ships is so amazing!

It makes the game like grand theft auto in space. I was having a blast being a stowaway on other ships. In one case I was exploring a space station when I noticed a $200 ship parked outside. I ran to the ship and triggered the boarding elevator. However its captain was right behind me and started shooting as I rode the platform up.

Inside I freak out since I lack a gun. I run to the next room to see him riding the storage elevator up, gun drawn. I run around to the other side of the ship closing doors behind me, finding a deployable fighter. Hide in it while I hear him searching the ship but he missed me.
This is Star Citizen?

Yeah they recently released the "Universe" alpha which is pretty close to what the final game is.

Here's a video with the specific ship I was talking about.

Well I solved my gpu heating problem by keeping it elite locked to 60 fps. It dropped the temp by 20c. Which is crazy. Because I need that extra fps for vr.

My only option is to water cool both cards or sell them in favor of a 980ti hydro.

Choices....

Water cooling could decrease your computer's sound a lot.

I'm thinking about building my future PC under water cooling.

Watched some vids - looks cool and similar to maintaining a car lol.

It really depends on your pumps and fans. The good thing is a water cooler fans don't need to run very fast 90 percent of the time.

Water cooling is also really expensive.

Well I got my first paid pc build.

Not sure how I'm going to charge yet. Maybe 10 bucks profit on each major part, 50 to build, 50 to install os.

Does this sound reasonable?

Not sure.  Don't think you want to charge a profit on parts.  Just labour.  50/50 for the build and install is reasonable.

To do a custom loop. I'm looking to spend 5-700.

Well that's a custom set up.

You can do it much cheaper, something like the corsair h100i. Which is 110. But that will only cool a cpu. In my case I need 3 of them and 2 gpu adaptor brakets. Which I'd do if I bought the reference cards.  Honestly it would be cheaper to sell my 970s and buy a 980 ti hydro.

So a couple of days ago my laptop gave up on life. I went out and left it on for a while and when I came back it was acting weird. I could load up programs but do nothing with them. I could open new tabs on chrome but not interact with the page. So I restarted it and when it switched on it made loads of beeping noises and switched itself off again. After messing around with it for a while I did a reset, uninstalling apps but keeping files and that seemed to fix it.

It's working fine now, if anything a bit faster than before it seems... But should I be worried? Do I need to get it checked out? Can any of you think what went wrong?

I don't know. Maybe if it does it again. Sound like it locked up from being left on too long.
