I understood now... the Arcade mode is shorter... it is not a lack of.

Well while that can be bad for some I guess I'm happy... I always hated to have to play a lot of matches to finish and unlock chars like SFIV.
Less is better for me... it was painful to finish all chars arcade modes :(
Now I can have fun fast.

etho pls.

I'm not into most fighting games.. SF and MK were my childhood (button mashing kid) but then drifted away. Tried getting back with Sf4, Injustice, MK, etc, to no avail. Not for me. Won't be getting this either. But for nostalgia sake i'd still like to play some matches at some point.. Hopefully down the line (1-3 years) they do a DC and release a basic free PS+ version and i'll dabble with it then.

I remember I had way more fun with MK and SFII than the later releases because I needed to heck play a lot to unlock the chars in the arcade mode (MKII, SSFII).
Versus play is the must for fighting games.

But I know a lot of guys like the Arcade mode.

I was wondering how many time I will waste to finish all chars in SFV to get the FM... now I'm happy because I won't need only play story mode today.

Ludicrous Speed

Sounds like they rushed it out and what's there is good but there's just not much there.

Pretty much. Though by next month, June, and September the game will be a lot more beefy. It's really going to save them headache by making the additional content free instead of charging for every little thing. Looking at you, Evolve.

We need to wait some time to see if the game was rushed because the gameplay looks balanced and the Online is the best ever in a fighting game.

So they focused in what they wish was the best for a fighting game.

I play it today night but from what I ready there aren't anything rushed in the game... it lacks SP content? Yes but rushed? No... rushed for me is when something didn't work like it is supposed to work... MCC, DriveClub were rushed.

Mmm_fish_tacos

I don't mind the gaming being short on contents.  I spend most my time training anyway, as I have a goal to be some what decent online. But I can understand the complaints.

BTW the game looks fully EVO ready already.

So there is new content coming I would say within the next week or so. Then you have new DLC character in march.

So basically learn the fundamentals, train against CPU, get some fight money, and before you know it only thing that is a long wait is the campaign.

Dr. Pezus

Reminds me of Titanfall in that the gameplay is great but not enough content, except sfv will get a lot more content on the coming weeks than tf got

kitler53

so splatoon all over again.

gamers are fickle beasts.  they want new content to be added to a game but it has to all be there day-1.  the whole phased content release is a guaranteed way to get shame review scores imo and no game developer should ever do it.  release a "full" game and then start the sequel.  put a 2 on the box gamers will for fanatical for it but call it dlc and it is as evil has hitler riding a lazer-eyed dinosaur though a nursery.

Phased content sucks imo for everything but free to play. I'm glad reviewers are pushing back against this growing trend.

You know what else sucks? Games that never release.

Dunno, Driveclub and Splatoon have shown that this system works for keeping player engagement and what is the difference from a consumer perspective if the content that's coming down the line is free anyway? When I look at SFV now for instance I see it as a game that I don't feel like buying right now and that I will wait for until the June update most likely, but that doesn't mean that I feel the game should have been delayed until June. I mean that wouldn't have made a difference to me anyway aside from the fact that I might be able to get the game a little cheaper in June now, for people that are fine with what the game is putting on offer right now however, it would take the possibility to get the game now away and give them essentially nothing in return.

I'm fully in favour of reviewers docking points for lacking content when they are reviewing a game, that's a simple risk that publishers are facing with this release model, but I feel overall it's not a bad model at least for certain genres.

Then do early access.

Sell the game and let people buy the game, but don't treat it as the finished game.
