That too. But it's really annoying how some people are like "The XB1 would've easily sold way more than the PS4 in the US if MS didn't mess up". Yeah, let's forget that the PS4 had a really good reveal and Microsoft poorly supported the 360 post-Kinect. It was pretty dang obvious that the XB1's reveal would not have much focus on games. Like in sports, turnovers and unforced errors are part of the game. Hindsight is 20/20 indeed.

Funny thing, I never thought Xbox really had a chance even before the reveal.  It isn't so much that Ms screwed up but all the advantages they had last gen didn't apply this gen.

 This right here is a flatout lie. An absolute, complete lie. NeoGAF members are getting restless that their only source of data was banned for a battleship reason. There are even calls to unban him, which I find really sweet. And now, just as I expected, the mods are trying to spin a new story to get them to calm down instead of doing the right thing and admitting their mistake and unbanning him.

 These blatant lies are unconscionable and should not be tolerated.

I know, right? And NPD used to even give GAF numbers from like 2006-2008. That was the hook I was able to use. "Hey NPD George / NDP_Mulcair, you guys gave GAF numbers before, just do what you used to do back in the day." And eventually it worked, but only thanks to the new guys. A year ago when they were harassing me it would have been impossible.

 I've made posts on GAF about the issues of VGC accuracy before and that still rings true today. Sometimes VGC is pretty accurate...other times it's far off the mark. I personally can't trust it because I can see the discrepancies are significant at times but hey, gotta give them credit for at least trying.

 But that's really easy to solve. If VG Chartz could establish a relationship with Walmart, Target, GameStop, Best Buy, and Amazon, they would effectively become as relevant as NPD.  They would have 90% of the sales in the market. Now of course, 90% accuracy isn't as accurate as NPD, mind you, but it's still pretty dang close (NPD is 95% accurate). Close enough that lots of institutions would start paying for them. Hell, we'd buy a subscription to them.

I'm more inclined to believe Aqua because "NPD George being a many-times banned member" is very inconsistent with his behavior on GAF. The several alts that got permabanned were Microsoft Chad, MS Hunert Smoke, The Grim Reaper, SayWhoSayBoo, and more. These alts had an apparent Microsoft/Xbox bias. However, NPD George/NDP_Mulcair was enthusiastic about niche Japanese games and even wished for them to get more recognition. A person with such an Xbox bias would never say something like that.

This also doesn't excuse the mod team for not communicating with Aquamarine when she requested for her requested permaban to be removed nor George when they were planning to permaban him. The lack of transparency does not help either.

The GAF mod team has become quite corrupt since the rise of GamerGate. When the mod team and members began prohibiting pro-GamerGate comments, anit-Anita Sarkeesian comments, or any comments that they deem "sexist" or "racist", it's no wonder that the corrupt authoritarianism has spread to other sub-communities of the forum.

Well they're not literally dead. Just I was expecting both the PS4 and XB1 to be up this January.
