Very LTTP since I finished this game back last month.

So ya, finished Final Fantasy Type-0 for the Playstation 4. It was my first Playstation 4 game and first current gen Final Fantasy game that I completed. Its also my first time finishing/playing Final Fantasy Type-0 even though I did play a little bit of the PSP exclusive original Final Fantasy Type-0 few years back.

The game was okay for the most part - there were a few parts that were flawed/could have been better but overall satisfied my needs (until FFXV comes out of course ;p). I had gotten the day one edition during black friday 2015 - so yes I'll be playing/recording Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae sometime soon as well.

I plan to buy Final Fantasy Type-0 HD again for Steam/PC in the future.

Anyways....here's my review for the PS4 version.

Chocobo POWAH :O

Game: Final Fantasy Type-0 HD
Genre: Action RPG
Developer: Squareenix
System: Playstation 4 (PS4)
Total Score: 87/100
Value Score: 8.7/10

• Story: 10/10
• Characters: 8/10
• GamePlay: 7/10
• Graphics: 7/10
• Sound: 8/10
• Music: 10/10
• Length: 9/10
• Replay Value: 10/10
• Player Value: 8/10

Pros
+Unique and dark themed storyline compared to the rest of the series
+A lot of unique characters which can be seen as inspirations from history, anime, etc
+A lot of replay value and the ability to replay missions in different difficulties with New Game+ included
+Fantastic and memorable soundtrack with a lot of new tracks and remixes of old Final fantasy songs
+A lot of side quests with different varieties ranging from killing monsters, obtaining items and accomplishing certain tasks
+A lot of post game type content that allows you to view storyline information, enemy bestiary, cutscenes and other information
+The game plays through different types of genres such as FPS (in certain situations) , the usual RPG mechanics for the series and RTS elements for some field battles
+The HD remaster includes an additional secret cutscene not seen in the PSP version
+Visuals have improved from the PSP version

Cons
-Characters have weird animation or poorly designed animation during cutscenes compared to other dubbed FF games
-Although the game is on PS4, it is a HD remaster and it seems like it could easily be run on a PS3. Visuals look improved from the PSP version but it still looks dated and like a PS2 game in some aspects
-Motion blur is used more than it should be
-The game actually has you depending on grinding at times before you are able to continue otherwise you would have a lot of difficulty especially when keeping up levels for 14 characters
-There's only a handful of missions and even then they are divided into different types of gameplay (between RTS and actual RPG elements) which can make grinding a bit difficult to choose from
-The magic system is kind of useless especially the upgrading part
-Summon system is limited similar to FF12 and FF13 and not like the older FF games
-Some of the cutscenes, items, weapons and summons cannot be obtained in one playthrough so you would have to play the game multiple times

Quote from: Legend on Feb 08, 2016, 07:17 PMYou've played a ton of FF games!

Possibly my most played series which is no surprise since its my most favorite gaming franchise. Funny thing is the list is longer - the reason why its short is because I only added list of games I finished after 2010 cause thats when I started reviewing them.

Second for most played and most favorite would be Mario in terms of both 2D and 3D platformers.

Yeah its great but not awesome like some of the older FF games :O

It has alot of flaws but a ton of great qualities.
