He was talking about the GAF prediction for PS4+XB1 being close to real PS4+XB1. We have no idea what the gap is yet.

How close, @ZhugeEX ? :)
Not that close.

But basically I wasn't 400k off like last time lol.

Unfortunately I don't know any software numbers :(

Can't help there.

Hmmm. I'm thinking something like PS4 1.55m and XB1 1.35m or something along those lines then. Maybe slightly more for both

DerNebel

The software top 10 should be interesting, that the PS4 won isn't much of a surprise.

Xevross

So it seems like 1.38m<Xb1<1.43m

And XB1+PS4>2860k

Based on Sonys PR the X1 may have actually sold more third party software in December.

Edit: Here's the PR

"As we reflect on an amazing year, we want to thank fans and partners for making PlayStation 4 the top selling console in December and in 2015. PS4 also had the strongest third-party software sales in 2015 in the U.S., according to NPD.
The momentum and enthusiasm for the platform continued throughout the year, resulting in cumulative sales of more than 35.9 million since the launch of PS4. During the holiday season alone, more than 5.7 million PS4s and 35 million PS4 games were sold through to consumers worldwide. We look forward to another great year and bringing an extensive portfolio of games from our publisher partners and SCE Worldwide Studios to fans in 2016."

This round is wrong because the GAF guy is using 4.9m for Xbox One for the year and "round by the teeth" can be 4.7m or 4.8m.

So Xbox One can be below 1.38m.

I don't think so.

Apparently #9 on the software chart is a huge surprise

  • Star Wars: Battlefront (Xbox One, PS4, PC)
  • Fallout 4 (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
  • Madden NFL 16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)
  • NBA 2K16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)
  • Grand Theft Auto V (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3, PC)
  • Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege (Xbox One, PS4, PC)
  • Minecraft (360, Xbox One, PS4, PS3)
  • Minecraft: Story Mode: A Telltale Game Series (360, Xbox One, PS4, PS3)
  • FIFA 16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)

Looks like Xb1 did very well for itself. I think the HW gap will be fairly small this month. Perhaps only 100k
