Star Wars IV becomes biggest movie in the galaxy, with $30 trillion earth dollars grossed.

Yeah here's my theory.

Rey is Luke's daughter, and was part of his Jedi training camp. Then Kylo Ren went all sithy and killed peeps and stuff, including her mother/Luke's wife. Kylo had an internal struggle with this and couldn't bring himself to kill his cousin Rey as well, so he wiped her memories and hid her on Jakku.

True, the plot would have been better if it didn't follow a new hope so closely

I loved all of the action scenes and the effects though, they were better than any other Star Wars film
