Yeap... it was possible Bloodborne was ahead due the early release (2 months).
That means the two have close numbers in US too.

All of them, so that's quite a lot of them. Wikipedia should have a games list or something.

It's comparing two new IP's on two 8th gen consoles with drastically different install bases.

Whilst third parties continue to thrive on PlayStation 4 and first party titles too are selling well, Nintendo has done exceptionally well with key first party titles this generation and this showa that people buy their hardware to play the software they put out. Mario Kart 8 for example has the highest attach rate of any game software title ever with more than 50% of Wii U owners having purchased the game. (That number includes bundles but whatever)

Unfortunately Nintendo's dedicated fanbase is tiny in comparison to mainstream audiences and so the company will need to do something radically different with NX if they ever want another high selling console, and in turn, even higher selling software.

But that's kind of a known factor as well, people buy Nintendos hardware for Nintendos software and Nintendos key titles tend to have very good legs, none of that's really news. Also the fact that Nintendos releases are so few and far between and that there's nothing else on the Wii U also helps these titles sell more. What was the next relevant Wii U release after Splatoon this year? Mario Maker? That's almost 4 months that Splatoon had the spotlight for itself. 4 months after Bloodborne huge titles like MKX, Witcher 3 and Batman had all released.

Still I mainly don't get why this is being pointed out now when Splatoon must have outsold Bloodborne in the states months ago.
