He don't... he is just speculating.

To be fair 21-27 Nov 2015 vs 22-28 Nov 2014 looks more accurate for a 22% increase posted by MS.

Xbox One Console Deals Return for a Limited Time: $50 off All Bundles, Starting at $299 - Xbox Wire

QuoteThanks to the support of our fans, Xbox One saw record-setting U.S. sales* and record global engagement** during the week of Black Friday. Due to this amazing response from gamers, we're bringing the discounts back for a limited time: starting today, Dec. 9 through Saturday, Dec. 26 in the U.S., all Xbox One console bundles will be available for $50 off, starting at $299.

*Sales period of Nov. 21 – Nov. 27 in the U.S., based on internal Microsoft data
**Period of Nov. 21 – Nov. 27 globally, based on internal Microsoft data

Those are literally the asterisks at the bottom of the Xbox article.
Last year Black Friday was the 28th, which was not included in the comparison.

I think they did. And even told everyone they did it. Lol.

They said best BF week though, which makes it seem like they're comparing weeks not dates. Also those dates are for 2015 only, they don't say 2014 dates they used.

Yeah, I just noticed. Man, MS PR is doing some serious work. Maybe they will clarify that they are comparing Nov. 21-27, 2015 to Nov. 22-28, 2014, but they would have already mentioned that in the PR.

They are slightly grasping at straws.

Quote from: serversurferProblem is, as I explained to B&L, there's no such thing as a "saturday-friday period."  In the US, where the claim was based, reporting periods run Sunday through Saturday, and they run Monday through Sunday in Asia.  So if MS invented a Sat-Fri Period to measure, they should've said so.  Instead, they said they were examining November 21st through the 27th.  That's pretty specific, so I don't know what makes a Sat-Fri period so "obvious" to you.

MS kinda left 28th out on purpose lol
