What's the difference between game of the year and developer of the year?

Game of the Year is the best game of the year, and developer of the year is the best developer.  

It could mean different things.
Basically this game is the best, but this other developer did a great job of supporting their game.  
Something like that.

Usually though I think they use Best developer, as like a second GOTY.

yeah while The Order 1886 wasnt fantastic as a game, the Music/sound, performance and art desgin should all be nominated.

Best multiplayer should be Rocket League. its fantastic.

not sure why nintendo is put into developer of the year. they are a publisher, and nintendo didnt release any GOTY award material this year. so not sure why they are even up there.
