Completely. GAF is even worse IMO, which is a pretty crazy feat. You can only "say what you think" if what you think is in line with the majority of users there. Anything else and you're a pariah. It's not inaccurate to call it an amalgamous hive mind.

I says different opinion again GAF there every time and I never get any issue about that.
If you can explain why you do have a different point of view then you be fine.
Baseless claims and you will have a hard time.

It is not... GAF works fine with opinions, discussions and bans.
And they handle with way way way bigger community.
People don't need to accept your opinion... everybody in GAF have opinions but they discuss in a funny way and didn't get over themselves.
It is a nice place to post and talk about everything.
What the others thinks didn't have to affect a good moderation.
But I said and asked to ban me if they wish...I don't hate them for that.
I won't fight the moderation for the best again like previous years.

On Gaf you can get a month ban for simply mentioning the chartz in a non-dismissive way, I've heard more than a few stories of utterly ridiculous bans happening on Gaf.
On Gaf almost every "console war" discussion mysteriously ends with the PS as the winner.
On Gaf you may make fun of MS' for spinning their PR shame, but Gaf itself is brilliant at spinning PS news into something positive even if it isn't and Xbox news into something negative even if it isn't.
I absolutely prefer PS and I do find Gaf useful and fun at times, but that doesn't change that, just like pretty much every other big gaming forum I've encountered online, the site is pretty dang shame in certain ways and some of those are definitely a sizable amount of the community and the moderation system. I'm not saying the chartz are better in that regard though, both forums have a pretty rotten core. I still think your ban was justified.

the problem with vgchartz moderations is they are focused more on trying to create a culture then they are on trying to have consistent moderation rules.  their goal above and beyond anything else is to cultivate a culture of constructive, intelligent conversation.  the problem in their execution of that ideal is they view any negative statement as a fanboy statement even if well supported with actual facts.  ..and moderation that moderates any thread/user that comes to a negative conclusion that might hurt someone's feelings completely kills any constructive, intelligent conversation.

the moderation is so uneven it's always hard to tell what will/won't get moderated if you are posting something even slightly negative in nature.  then individual users are moderated inconsistently too,.. i personaly can post some really shaming things and get away with it because i have a reputation of sarcasm but if some lesser known individual posted some of the same crud i posted they'd be banned immediately.   which then creates conflict because everyone now views any moderation as biased and unfair which then feeds back into people not wanting to post.

Halo 5 is surprisingly low to be honest. It was the first BIG game to release this "holiday" and it had almost a week before another big title released (Black Ops 3). If that 900k number with bundles is true then oooo boy Microsoft better give this game a big push come this Christmas.

The PS4 numbers are also surprisingly low considering the price drop. But I guess that's what you get when you give us Canadians a 20$ drop. fudge you. Sorry.

As I said on the other thread, I think consumers have been conditioned to wait until November to buy consoles and games. Microsoft played a huge role in that last holiday season.

Destiny numbers includes bundles so UCC flopped too.
Way less than 200k for sure.

My beef with GAF is that the mods ban people who support GamerGate and the forum unconditionally puts people like Anita Sarkeesian, Zoe Quinn, and Brianna Wu on a pedestal. If there was one redeeming quality of VGC that I appreciate, it is that it allows GamerGate supporters to express their opinions without the fear of censorship.

So GAF is a hive mind, an authoritarian left hive mind.
