I don't know. It was a big fudgin' seller. Still sold an absolute monster of copies in our stores. We just didn't get the same momentum around the bundles themselves for the hardware side of things. It was the standalone game we had moving big numbers.
My private observation has been that it really does seem like most of the major Halo audience has found reasons to acquire the system at some point leading up to this point. Whether at launch, just due to knowing the title is coming (These are the diehards, they saw a Halo 5 announcement at all and were instantly on board), then the fans of MS's first party stuff that were sold on Gears or Forza, etc., then the Titanfall pick ups, and then the MCC push.
Halo is still a big dang franchise. And it did really dang well, as far as I can tell. Just didn't seem to overwhelm the sudden friggin' storm of holiday frenzy that a price cut setting in just as the holidays getting started seems to do. The timing of that drop was perfect, honestly. It hit right as things are fairly quiet, so shoppers aren't really wary about hitting most stores, as the lines aren't bad, but all our prep for holiday shoppers are largely in place with the new queuing formats, etc. so it's all optimized.
I checked another few districts before I headed home tonight. It looks like across the country, most Best Buys are following that trend, where the PS4 is leading the XB1 for October. How much varies. Sometimes its higher, sometimes its a lot closer, but it is still generally a lead of some kind. There also seems to be a lot of the Halo bundles still available. To put in perspective... In over 50 stores within a 400 mile radius, none of them were sold out of the Halo bundle. None.

It sounds like what many of us were expecting. Without Gamestop insight there's always a big question mark but its looking more and more like a PS4 win.

It is still above 10k on media create and its the 2nd worse month of the year.
It can reach it without bundle at retail.
Yeah plus people might be holding off until the splatoon bundle in 2 weeks.  Still though is it guaranteed 1m retail even with the bundle?

Halo 5 has a crazy amount of user reviews on amazon already.  Obviously sold a lot of copies.

Raven

Uncharted bundle sitting at 11. Will probably top the month but it looks like it will be close. CoD bundle broke into the top 20. Currently sitting at 18. Kinect bundle down to 21. Battlefront LE bundle in 22 and trending upward. Halo bundle down to 28. Gears bundle now in the top 40. Currently at 38.

Standalone PS4 and Taken King bundle are both back in stock but the standalone is still $400 for some reason.

MGS5 shipped 5m.  Considering the amount of ground zero copies they've sold. They have definitely made a good profit off this.

Its gonna be a good ol' fight for a while but once those ps4 bundles release it will have a huge lead. That Star Wars bundle has had so many pre orders built up in the last few months and its looking like its going to finish very strong as well. Could perform like the Destiny bundle last year. That COD bundle is making very similar movements to the Halo bundle except its been in the top 100 for longer. Maybe the PS4 cod boost will be bigger than the xb1 halo boost.

I knew the kinect bundle wouldn't last too long ;D

Week 3 final rankings are up:

#13 PS4 Uncharted Collection
#22 XBO Halo LE
#28 PS4 Star Wars LE
#50 PS4 COD LE
#65 PS4 Star Wars
#67 XBO Gears
#100 XBO Forza LE

Bolded doesn't count towards NPD

Interesting, I think PS4 takes that week.

Why is the bo3 bundle 30$ dearer?  Maybe they are producing 2m of these.  That's 60m in additional revenue so maybe the deal cost a lot and they want to recoup the costs through the bundle.

Either way it's charting very well.

Destiny Microtransactions Dominate PSN Paid Add-Ons - NeoGAF

Quote
QuoteA glance at the PlayStation Store’s current top paid Add-Ons rankings reveal that Destiny’s new Silver system is off to a strong start. To put it another way, that means that silver purchases are among the most popular paid add-ons being downloaded across all games available on Sony’s consoles. The three different tiers of silver purchases are all in the top five for recent sales, as you can see in the picture below.

Top 3 are all PS4 but 2 of those don't count in October. Interesting!

XB1 dropping away too!
