Also is this the longest continuous pre release campaign a game has ever had? Games get announced early all the time, but NMS has never let up on the marketing. It's been at every show for the past 2 years.

Did anyone else notice that No Man's Sky was listed as Console Exclusive? Did that change at some point? Because I thought it was said that it was coming to PS4 and PC with other platforms later. Even Gematsu changed their listing of it from timed exclusive to console exclusive.

Yeah. I'm betting Sony saw the big hype around it and went, "Well... we can either be the idiots that let this one get away or we can take a gamble and pay this guy an arm and a leg". I'm sure even an Indie dev wouldn't turn down a boat load of cash. Especially considering the flood that wiped his place out awhile back.

they probably didnt pay him a lot of money. they probably offered him the marketing deal, helping him get on TV shows, the insane amount of time he had in confrences, support with developing the game, and a publishing deal on PS4. maybe some cash too.

that alone would have caused his game to gain A LOT more sales, and thus a lot more money than self publishing it on PS4, XB1 and PC.

Gematsu lists it as being published by SCE. They have since it was announced a year ago.

The Wikipedia for SCE also lists it as one of their properties.
