Even if Tachikoma was the president of Game Freak, I'd still have to assume she made a mistake. WSJ is a more reliable source.
Not to mention, Tachikoma has proven to not be 100% accurate. I recall her saying that The Last Guardian's name had been changed. E3 2015 proved her wrong.

tachi was wrong about a lot of stuff actually. not saying this to attack her or anything. its just that her track record isnt good.

What has she been wrong about though?  I've yet to read anything she said being wrong.  I also never recall her saying The Last Guardian was getting a name change.

She suggested GT7 would be at e3.

In fairness she might just know it's well into development so made an educated guess it would be at e3 and tlg might have a new codename the devs use internally.

That's how most insiders are. They have more knowledge than the public does, but they're still having to make educated guesses. Or else they are just passing something along that another insider told them.

The people with first hand knowledge are either high enough in the company that they'd never leak stuff, or only know about specific things. Like I could tell you everything about PS4 hardware and software, but I have zero 100% insight on everything else.

So imo it's best to judge insiders by the quality and accuracy of their leaks only, and not get caught up with the validity of them being an actual insider. I'm pretty sure I've talked to Tachikoma before too. She shared some cool things.

She did but I'm not going to bother trying to dig up her post. Her comment on that fueled some speculation because she was treated as legit. You can either believe me or not. She was wrong on that.

But what did she specifically say?  Could The Last Guardian have been a code name and they decided last minute to keep it?  Or had internal discussions to change it?  Kinda like that CBOAT E3 leak last year.  He saw the beginning of Halo 5's trailer before Master Chief was shown and thought it was a new Prince of Persia.  Get's called a fake and untrustworthy despite being right about everything else before hand.  Though the later stuff he was wrong about was Microsoft throwing him fake info to flush him out.

I doubt anyone here is trying to claim that she isn't an insider. Plus as I said, I'm pretty sure I've talked privately with her and she's most definitely in the industry.

As Legend said, I'm not saying she's not in the industry and doesn't have inside information. She came out at one point when rumors were flying, once again, that The Last Guardian was going to be shown and she simply claimed the name has been changed. It was at a point when people were speculating whether the game was even the same anymore. Which, seeing as it was her, further fueled that line of thinking. Turns out, it was the same name and the same game. I even think I remember Banana doubting her knowledge on that. I also remember clearly thinking when that announcement dropped, "Well, looks like Tachikoma was wrong".

I'm simply pointing out that she is not 100% accurate with her information and it's not very likely that WSJ is going to report on something about the game industry that is purely a rumor. Whatever source they had it was likely solid enough to run a story. Are we really that surprised to hear about devkits going out now anyways? The Wii U is effectively dead, its lineup is drying up, and its last big title was delayed to some unspecified time in 2016. That announcement was made about 7 months ago. I'm sure you're aware this wouldn't be the first time a company killed their current console comparatively early to get the next one out the door ASAP.
