Asked whether the studio is aiming for 60 frames per second, he mentioned that it's user created content, so they can't stop people from making games that run slow, as it depends on what you put into your level. At the moment the creations they have been working on are "looking more like 30 frames per second," but engine always get optimized towards the end, so they're going to make it as efficient as possible.
Healey agrees that the game is perfect for VR, and the idea of having a virtual dream that you can explore seems like the ultimate Grail, but for now the studio is focusing on the standard PS4 experience, but it's "a no brainer" that they will explore VR afterwards.

DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so they basically said no VR at the moment? this would be perfect for VR and would allow them to create something truly unique. if they dont make this VR compatible at launch then they iced up.

I'm sure they will. Something like this is clearly not easy to do because it's a robust creation tool. Not a game with set limits and a specific direction or focus. They've been working on it for nearly 5 years and I'm willing to bet it will be close to 6 before it releases. They were already deep into development of this while Sony was still trying to figure out VR. I'm also not convinced that PSVR is releasing early next year. I think Sony might hold off until Holiday 2016. Combine the holiday rush with a new product that they give themselves extra time to market and develop for. If they do that, Media Molecule might be given the opportunity they need to get this out in a VR form at launch or soon after.

actually i think PS VR should still release during the summer. that way it has A LOT less competition. when CoD, Destiny, Titanfall, Assassins Creed, Horizon, Gears all release next year, it will be hard to grab attention to something different.  in the summer it can have the spot light all for its self.

as for dreams, the framerate is 30 right now, if they want to make it VR compatible it must be atleast a solid 60. i dont see that happening.

From what I understand, the PSVR has its own processing power.

i doubt it would be able to make a 30fps game run at 60fps. i doubt its that powerful at all actually. unless its placed somewhere between the cables of the device. because if you are wearing it on your head, it would either get too hot due to the processing, or it would need to be very week that it doesnt get hot and need ventilation. it would also need to be super light.

That power is only for binaural audio and sending an undistorted view to the TV.

"Whatever Sony tried to sell you on before, well, let's just say it falls far short of expectations. Everything about this device feels like a throwback to earlier times. The controller is incredibly simplistic with two thumbpads instead of analog sticks and fewer buttons than modern controllers. The visuals are just not there. We often wondered if our preview device wasn't just broken with all the red lines during gameplay. The worst part of all is the lineup and to be quite honest I'm not sure how Sony managed to convince Nintendo to put Mario Tennis on their VR device. Is this a sign that Nintendo is leaving the hardware space of the console market and going third party? Was the whole NX announcement just to throw us off? Hopefully Sony implements a Day 1 patch to fix these issues at launch."

And frame rate?

My friend just bought a labtop that always you to hook it to an external desk top GPU. Apparently any Labtop  with a usb 3.1 will allow it going forward. I can't believe the consoles makers passed on that. It could have been a huge help with vr. Would have also added to the price but would have over come any short falls it would have had operating on the ps4.
