Nice bump Legend ;D

The XBO's holiday lineup nowhere near to being stuffed. On top of that, the Forza series is suffering franchise fatigues and ROTR is marred by numerous microtransaction.

the more surprising bit about TR is the ps4 version is already announced.

So the article was clearly wrong.

Except for Halo 5 the lineup is weaker than last year :o

To be fair he clearly states he is speaking from a 1st and 3rd party point of view, which means you'd include all the huge slew of releases coming this fall. And in that case on paper I would say 2015 appears as if it will defecate all over 2014. I mean, Fallout 4, Just Cause 3? Flawless victory.

That may have been what he meant, but it certainly wasn't the way a lot of the fanbase took it. I remember quite a few comments over time where fans ranted and raved about X1's "loaded exclusive lineup" for next Fall and pointed to this, among other things, as proof that it was happening. So yeah, it's not something that should be layed at his feet as if he lied or hyped. Rather, something that should be taken as a lesson in reading comprehension. That goes for both sides.

He clearly states first and third party about fall 2014.  The next statement is less clear because he uses "we".

However, there is an bit of an inconsistency with this particular statement after Phil's assessment of the 1st and 3rd party standpoint: "I honestly don't know that we can actually ship all the stuff that thinks it's trying to ship next fall. It just might be too crowded and we might purposely try to move some things out to spread it. You have to [give them some breathing room], you have to do that."

While November is packed, there is a pretty sizable window between Forza 6 and Halo 5. MS can even release another game in December (frankly, they should really publish ROTR during that month, not at the same day as Fallout 4).

That seems to be the case with Phil Spencer.

Phil: "I had a cheeseburger for lunch."

PS fans see it as: "I really skipped lunch, but saying I had a cheeseburger will make lunch appear better."
Spoiler for Hidden:
The chertz are freaking insane. Phil made a quote saying he expects a PS4 price cut in October, hey look it happened, so many people came to the conclusion he said this as a way to spread FUD and slow PS4 sales. There are people that literally think the PS4 price cut on the 9th was a reaction to his quote since Sony was losing sales.

XB fans see it as: "I invented the cheeseburger and it single handily saved lunch, #humblebrag"

Yes, as in the industry. At least that's the way I took it. They give another quote at the end of the article where he is still talking in terms of first and third party and how multiple games shipping on the same day or the same week might not be best and some things might be better off delayed. Seems pretty clear to me he's talking about the entire industry, fall 2015 included.

Uncharted Collection
Wasteland 2
Guitar Hero
Just Dance
dog Creed
Darksiders 2
WWE 2015
Halo 5
CoD 2015
Need for Speed
Legacy of the Void
Tomb Raider
Animal Crossing
Battlefront
Fallout 4

All in a 3 or 4 week period from now until mid November, it's insane.

LOL what are those two pics from? Brilliant. And the Spencer stuff is spot on as well. I love his threads on Chartz. I had no idea he wielded so much market power that just mentioning PS4 price cut would lower its sales.

Do 3rd party games suddenly count as part of a holiday lineup?

Phil Spencer one was 100% honest. The same guy had also made these beautiful graphics.

The yoshida one was made to mock how silly "the phil spencer effect" was.

Yes?

I seriously think fanboyism is a mental disease. It's one thing to prefer, and even cheer, a particular platform but holy shame some people are fudgy scary with how far they take it.
