Quote from: Raven on Oct 07, 2015, 01:18 PMPretty sure Japan has a bigger holiday lineup for PS4 than the West does. Also, plenty of those 2016 games are releasing early next year. Like Star Ocean, for example. I think the price cut was just to squeeze some extra holiday sales out. Next year is practically the "Year of the JRPG". I think we should wait until after 2016 is over to fret over Japanese sales.
I think there are a couple more small games but the big 4 (imo) for Japan have all been delayed to 2016

Dragon Quest Builder - Jan. 28th
Star Ocean 5 - Feb. 25th
Persona 5 - "Summer" 2016
Attack on Titan - I'm not totally sure but I think this was delayed to 2016 as well.

I have no doubt that 2016 is going to be a lot better for the PS4 in Japan, it's still a bummer that none of those games are making it this year to help push PS4s.

Hmm not that good, especially when you consider how many sales it lost in the past 2 weeks due to the announcement. It's basically no net effect. Hopefully it will increase the baseline though

I think it's a good thing.  Ps4 is handsomely up YOY and will continue to grow its lead and that's despite a 300k launch last year and almost all its games being on ps3, vita or both.

Good to see a big PES YOY increase for the ps4. Next year it should have a commanding lead over the ps3 version.

This holiday has 3 big ps4 games.  2 in November and 1 in December.  2 are next gen exclusive and the other is heavily down graded on last gen.

Those games are black ops 3, battlefront 3 and fallout 4.

Until then we'll just have smaller releases like the uncharted collection to help the ps4 along.

Long story short almost every month this year will be heavily up YOY and 2016 will be up again by a lot.  Basically ps4 is fine and if Nintendo ever release another home console they'll be competing against a ps4 that has cornered the home console market.

Someone post the software chart plox

After adding the PS4's sales from the last 3 weeks, the weekly average is 19.5K. In its last week prior to the pricecut announcement, it sold 18.5K. We should still wait and see if the price cut raises the baseline in any significant way since the price cut was in effect for only a half week.

I'm impressed with Yoru No Nai Kuni's numbers as Gust's games tend to sell lower.

Also, Arslan flopped. I'm worried about how it'll do overseas (and the XBO will probably do really bad).

Because XBO fans were vocal about it and Koei Tecmo thought there was demand from the XBO userbase.

Btw. looking at this, how likely do you think it is that Forza 6 won't make the top 10 in Septembers NPD?

How do PS store stats inform us about Forza?

By showing us what released in the month (I know you could find this out in a better way, but whatever, lol) and giving us an idea on how it could have performed.

At this point I can think of 7 games that should definitely have sold more than Forza in September, I 'm wondering if there are more that could have done it, like Skylanders or the new Lego game.

MGSV
Madden
Fifa
NBA2K
Mad Max
Mario Maker
Destiny

Raven

Forza 6 probably made it into the NPD top 10 but likely thanks to consolidating the versions of each game into one rank. I'm going to guess that it didn't make it into the top 5 for the US.
