Quote from: Kerotan on Sep 24, 2015, 06:31 AMFallout 4 doing exceptionally well on amazon Japan.  Could this be bigger than we think in the East?

After the witcher ps4 beating Xenoblade wii u earlier this year I'd imagine so.
fallout is quite a bit more "western" though, I'd say. I think it can do about 100k lifetime or so.

the-pi-guy

As far as Western games go, Fallout is moderately eastern friendly.
It won't sell a million copies there, but 100k would be reasonable, and that's quite a bit compared to most western games.

Fallout 3 sold closer to 200k on the ps3 and 360.

Considering the rate of growth for Western games I'm going to say 250k. That's a big title if I'm right for Japan and will move ps4's for sure.

Also anybody notice there are 5 ps4 sku's above the highest x1 sku on the Amazon hourly?

Crazy!

Top 9 items on the UK hourly chart are different fifa 16 SKUs. How thrilling.

September NPD could be as one sided as last year at this rate.

PS4 might also have November in the bag at this rate as long as Sony does something to counter Microsoft's holiday deals. Some of those SKUs are future November releases.

Well, Sony doesn't necessarily have to beat Microsoft. If, at worst, the PS4 is outsold by 200K for the rest of the year, then that's a win for Sony.

Yeah I saw, PS4 definitely has more sales for November right now but they will have to do some great deals to keep that up. I'm really surprised tbh, I can't see a reason why PS4 would have surged ahead so much lately.

Sure. Though if I were Sony, the sweeter deal would be to not only make more money on hardware over the holidays but sell more units. Doing so in the same holiday season as a new Halo release would be brutal. I definitely do not expect this holiday season to go like last year did. Sony seems like they're much more on the ball this time and these constant announcements of new games coming next year will probably drive up interest in the platform. I'm already seeing Xbox fans now posting PS4 titles they're anticipating next year.

Bundles that people want. Call of Duty, Battlefront, and Destiny. Plus, the Summer downtime is over. There have also been a lot of announcements of upcoming games. Horizon alone has generated quite a bit of buzz.

These are hourly charts so they probably change a lot, but still somewhat shows which games people are currently pre ordering.

Last year Sony had no bundles pre ordered in advance for November and blew it's load in September instead.

Also Microsoft will get more sales in October this year.  So I believe November is closer no matter what.

Dat Uncharted 4! I mean, they're all pretty shame but its performing so much better than all the other future exclusives. Which does make a load of sense.

Tomb Raider should really be higher than that by now.

For mostly being a year out, they're pretty good on the PS4 side of things!

Forgot SFV at #796.

DS3 for comparison is #1,775 on PS4 with a similar release date to U4 and SF.

As for Tomb Raider, yeah that's poor but not too horrible. Here are the numbers for other xbo games releasing this holiday.

Battlefront: #61 deluxe, #224 standard

Fallout 4: #59 (same day release as TR)

COD: #94

Halo 5: #28 standard, #126 limited, #453 collectors

JC3: #1,152 standard, #3,614 collectors (farthest away release)

AC: #541 standard, #1,132 gold

Rainbow Six: #105 standard, #536 gold

Deadpool: #6,437

PS4 is about to get a price cut in India. I don't get why they're rolling it out in stages like this.

To be stealthy so that consumers in the UK and USA keep buying the ps4 instead of holding off for a price cut.

Well UK has already had its price cut!
