I made a profit off my purchase of the Order. On sale for 40 bucks at target on launch week. Combined it with another promotion and team members discount and sold it in a week after platting it. It doesn't look like a commercial flop. If you add about 15% for digital then in made over 30m dollars in EU alone.
Yeah I'd say the reason they called it quits with ready at dawn was because they predicted the next game would flop after the mixed reviews this got. Rather then not making their money back.  Quit while you're ahead basically.

I personally bought it digital on the US store so I got it for the equivalent of 40 euro.  Happy with that because it was a short game I played through 3 times and probably once more next year.

ratings were high on the US store so digital sales over there were good.

Chartz will hate that so much.

Destiny: The Taken King: Most downloaded game day-1 on PSN, more players than launch - NeoGAF

QuoteActivision PR:
Quote“Destiny: The Taken King is officially the most downloaded game on day-one in PlayStation history and set a new benchmark for both total Destiny players and peak online concurrency on day-one, so it’s safe to say the Destiny franchise continues to gain momentum,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing. “Along with our talented partners at Bungie, we cannot wait to watch the community continue to grow and tackle the King’s Fall Raid kicking off on Friday.”

No numbers or point of reference, but a larger online base than when Destiny first launched is noteworthy, given the levels of hype that launch had. Taken King seems to have brought back a lot of players.

Probably 8m+ with digital so far. Still selling a lot

Nah it won't make it ahead of GTA imo but it should make it to 10m too

Currently, there are three PS4 SKUs ahead of the highest ranking X1 SKU on Amazon US. The PS4 Taken King bundle is 7th, the PS4 Battlefront Limited Edition bundle is in 9th, and the PS4 itself is 28th. The closest X1 SKU is the X1 Forza 6 Limited Edition 1 TB bundle at 31st. The X1 Gears of War bundle is 62nd and the X1 Madden 1 TB bundle is 82nd.

Yeah gta is probably almost at 9m including digital. 8.5 at least.

Gta 5 could be at 10 million by the time blogs releases.

I kinda expect this years CoD to do great, maybe even better than next year.
Treyarch is pretty much the favorite now.

Assassins creed releasing 3 weeks earlier this year.  Would suggest a smoother development.

I also think they're getting in ahead of some big guns on purpose.  Might be doubting the current pulling power of the franchise after the unity mess.

Those 3 weeks extra and the ps4 EU bundle will somewhat slow down the decline.
