4k screen for a phone is overkill imo lol. I have 1440*2560 and had 1080p before. Don't think I need more!

Yeah I think it is too, they all have the same camera and software features. The premium is for rich people who don't really care about the extra cost I guess. Saying that, the compact will still be too much for me

Lol i think phones dont need more than 720p. As for that compact, now i might get that in about two years. My z1 compact has been with me for a year and its still working perfectly!

I'm thinking of getting a z compact when my contract needs renewing... how well does the z1 run? Is it still quite quick?

Nah 1080p is definitely better than 720p, at least on 5+ inches.

How much do they cost?
It's cool to have a 4k video camera though because some people might have big 4K screens!

Yeah the video camera looks amazing. No price announced yet.

My z1 runs smooth.  BUT.  The Google stuff has a bit of lag.  Once it's up it's very smooth.  It just takes a while to load something up.  I also have 75% of my memory full so that might be slowing things down.

I have a Z. I need a new phone. What type of effect would 4k have battery life?

"Sony says its use of a "high capacity" 3,430 mAh battery and memory-on-display tech - which allows a static image to remain on show without requiring extra processing power - should mean the handset lasts for "up to two days" between charges."

So basically they covering it up and its gonna drain the battery pretty hard:

"I really doubt it will last two days if you watch a 4K movie on the device," said Francisco Jeronimo from the tech research company IDC.

I've a z3 compact for 8 months now.  Still working like it did day 1. Battery lasts a full day even if I use it heavily so I only have to charge it once while I sleep.

You can say that about any device though.  No device lasts more than 5 hours of consecutive use and I don't expect this device to last any less.  The good thing is Sony's stamina mode.  It's honestly god like.  I get two days out of my phone with average use.  3 if I turn it off at night.  Can I burn it down in 5 hours?  Of course I can.  But then again this is a phone not a tablet.

I can definitely tell the difference between the iphone 5c and sony z3 phone in terms of resolution... not sure how much better 4k will look at that size though

I have the s6 right now, and it's a very noticeable upgrade over a z1 or any other screen I've seen.  So i'm sure a 4k screen would be very noticeable.
