MGS I would expect to have more reviews the day before, simply because it's a MGS game.

That is very good. I expected reviewers to be more harsh and rate the game in the 70-75 range. Jim Sterling, who I really like, gave it a 9.5/100.

Very good scores! Was expecting something between 70 and 80

Also seems to be around 9 hours long! Very nice imo, especially with all the replayability

The beginning of Until Dawn boasts that the decisions you make during the game will craft a unique and personal story. By the time the credits rolled, I was a believer. Sure, every player follows the same narrative skeleton, and a few of the more "expendable" characters aren't instrumental to the ending (I'd also kill for a way to fast-forward scenes on subsequent playthroughs). However, the script kept me entertained and feeling like my decisions mattered throughout my 10-hour playthrough. Thanks to some good twists, a few fake-outs, and limitless jump scares, Until Dawn would make a solid horror film. As a piece of interactive fiction, however, it's a remarkable experience that horror fans shouldn't miss.

Sony must be really happy.  another solid exclusive added to their armory.  

And with mgs5 and destiny 2.0 coming what a great way to end the summer and keep momentum going to the last quarter.

Until dawn has gone up to #9 on amazon due to the positive reviews.  With Halloween coming up in October Sony would be wise to save some of its advertising campaign until then.  

Will probably struggle to get far up in August or September NPD but I expect sales in europe to be decent.  Word of mouth will be good especially with all the YouTubers like pewdiepie playing it.

Pewdiepie covering the game is a huge win. Until Dawn really shot up the hourly charts in Amazon France, UK, and even Japan.

It emulates horror movies while demonstrating a clear understanding of what makes those movies work, its focus on consequence is nervewracking and intricate, and its story is silly but strongly delivered. It's the best David Cage game not made by David Cage, and it's the best interactive horror flick you'll play.
