I went a head a grabbed the Hori. It comes with a square gate but you can mod it with JFL parts to use an oct and I can make it a circle at work if i want.

Hope it's good, now the wait..

So I got it in today and installed in the box. It feels fudgy awesome and leaps better than the old stick. Both upgrades where well worth the money So for a total of 115 dollars I now have a top end stick. Next up on my list is to tackle modding a ps4 pad to replace the PCB. My first year DS4 is about to go under the knife.

Let me know how that goes.

I couldn't resist the temptation of interrupting the two of you.

Are fight sticks actually good? Like I know they're traditional for fighting games, but are they that much better than gamepads?

It really depends.  I'm quite worse with a fight stick.  But I like using them for fun.  Depends what you learn first really.

A good one is. Befor the mods I'd only hit my moves like 50-60 percent of the time, but now I think that number is around 80 percent which is about what I'd get with a pad. But I don't end up with sore thumbs and hitting 3 buttons at a time is a lot easier with the stick and so is dashing. Timing I also find easier with a stick. As you can play with a rhythm similar to a Piano.

So I think I wan't to try to mod this using the plastic membrane. There's no soldering involved and it would give me something to do over the weekend. I can't solder to the board because I need and 8k ohms resistor and all the Radioshacks in my area closed down. So i'll have to order from amazon. And I think it will be a first time someones tired it. I just don't know how good it would be after it's done. Just taping the wires in place, the button pushed each time.

Now I can start doing it the way everyone else has, it's just I'd need to wait to get the L and R buttons working.

hmm. what to do.

Yes, And that was my plan to use the plastic board.

I'd also have to come up with a clamp, because that's how the plastic board connects to the DS4's Pcb. There's no lock in connector like there use to be with the ps3 controller.

Mmm_fish_tacos

Okay, I'm not going to use the plastic, I got buttons to work but I just don't feel that it would last.

So soldering iron and a bottle of Advil here i come.

Mmm_fish_tacos

Like gooches first time it was over before it even started.

Not sure what happened. I think i scraped a contact to much. but every time I pressed forward or back it would do all 3 kicks at the same time.  I needed flux and didn't have any, was not able to get the solder to stick.

oh well. I'll make an account on shoryuken and see what they say about it. If i fried it, I'll look on ebay for an as-is pad and give it another shot. He wasn't lying when he said it was hard.

Mmm_fish_tacos

So I'm bidding on a few as-is controllers on Ebay right now. And I know what to do to get them to work and probably look better the Gums mods or the other guys that have done this. I just need a 3d printer, Anyone got one? I might be able to get work to print it for me if they have time. It's pretty simple, I might be able to use a lego block to but it would be a lot of work for me to do that.  And I hate that Raidoshack has closed down in my area!

Mmm_fish_tacos

Well I found this, I might give someone on here a shot.

I'm having a hard time getting blender to make the part the size that I need. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
