the remastered collection or the actual games... i'd say that's a significant difference

Yeah it's definitely a bigger system seller and all that, but for this list war they're more than comparable. Platform retail exclusives. Tada!
MAJOR retail release... I wouldn't count tearaway or scream ride as "major"
if we were making a major retail release list...

Counting exclusives like this is useless. Their lineup is weak. No matter what the fans say. Sales reflect that and I have always said that games push consoles.

Also your image is missing Heavy Rain PS4. And Helldivers is on Vita digital.
Aren't Beyond Souls and Heavy Rain going to be in one package? As for Helldivers, I think the image meant that the retail version of the game is PS4-only.

More like 30 vs. 6.5 :P

Is it? Gears is a remaster too... TLOU, GoW3, etc.
I don't see nothing special in MCC to put it ahead others remasters.
It is nothing new.

I meant to ask is MCC on other consoles as the remaster, or were you referring to the actual games that were remastered... if the MCC isn't on PC I'd count that as a major console exclusive retail release... but if it was released for PC too then it is cross platform (IMO)

MCC is not a major exclusive... it is not even exclusive... I can play tem on 360 and some on PC.

It is a remaster lime orhers remasters... I don't see the big deal.

Halo 5 is the only big exclusive for Xbox One this year.

Did MCC come out for PC or 360?
No?
counts as exclusive
major is more subjective, but I'm sure it sold well, and had enough hype for it to be a "major" title due to marketing alone....

I can play all games on PC or 360.

So it is only a remaster collection.
GoW3 R can't be played outside PS4 but I can play GoW on PS3... it is a remaster.
Same for TLOUR and a lot of others remasters.

While it is fine to have a remaster collection... it is not big or in any way exclusive if I can play the games in another platform.

You cannot play the "remastered version" on other devices... you can play the original games on the systems they came out on true, but not the repackaged "new" version...

big or "major" is more of a subjective point... Halo is not a big deal to me personally as I'm not a fan of the series, but many people like it so having a "playable" remastered version on xone is a big deal for them. Hype + Marketing = "major" release IMO

I didn't play TLOU on the ps3 so having a remastered version on PS4 was great for me (though I think here the marketing and sales likely tracked behind MCC)

I think effectively for an exclusive games list the point is more so to show what you can play on one console you cant on the other so in that regard remasters fit just fine.
As far as it being major I think that all depends on the hype and marketing for the game.

As a litmus here's a question:
FFVII REMASTERED for PS4
Rare games collection for XONE
should they be counted as major console exclusives?

FFVII is a remake not a remaster.
It is a new game with the same history/plot.
And it is not exclusive.

Rare collection is a collection of old games... emulated... so it not a remaster.

Both are not big exclusives.

And TLOUR sold more than MCC... or I'm wrong?

TLOU:R by a decent margin, but still pretty close and that's with MCC selling more in the US (according to VGC numbers...)

Both of these only released for 1 console (though previous versions were on others) that to me counts as an exclusive both I think would count as a "Major" exclusive due to advertising and hype (though I bet more people were excited about MCC than TLOU:R)

FFVII and RGC were meant to point out extremes of this dichotomy in regards to "Major release" titles. I have no doubt the hype factor (and marketing) for FFVII will continue to grow, meanwhile RGC would not really be considered a "Major release" though it is great fan service.

I think MCC and TLOU were a happy medium between FFVII and RGC (more so leaning towards FFVII though)  enough to warrant both "exclusive" and "major" titles (though by a narrow margin)

Again though a games list (as games sell consoles as you said) should show the games you can play on one console that you can't on the either

You might be right about the marketing, but Tlou:R easily sold more.

The mcc bugs surely killed its sales.
