I have two. One had the rubber issue and I placed some third party on it, fine after that
The other is vanilla and still pristine

I bought the grip things you stick on them for a euro so there's no chance of them wearing.  So maybe they would have by now but that's irrelevant because I'll never know.  Really enjoy buying the grips.  Better with them even if you've nothing wrong with your controller.
