it amazes me anyone would upgrade from the $30 digital version to the $60 pysical.  i get people preferring physical when both are $60 but people are litterally paying an extra $30 bucks for 10 cents worth of plastic......

It's also a little bit of incentive to possibly get a better game.  The more money that goes into it, the better Shenmue can be.  
Admittingly I very much doubt I'd pay an extra 30$ for a disk, but maybe 5 or 10$.  Would save me on download time.

Almost $4.3 million with about 12 days to go. If I were Yu Suzuki, I would continue doing those Q&A sessions to maintain interest and grab more backers.

I honestly think they need Shenmue 1 and 2 Dreamcast ports, ala Sonic Adventure.

How would it be pointless?  Make them the last goal and that way you have enough for Shenmue 3 development how they want to make it and the left overs are used for the HD remakes.
