Honestly, American politics are scarily similar to the console warz. An insane amount of voters and a worrying amount of people in politics are fanboys. People think of Obama like fanboys think of Phil Spencer. Half the fanboys think he's the best thing since sliced bread and will constantly realign their opinions to match his, while the other half of fanboys think he's wanting to hurt America and everything he says is 100% wrong.

It's that bad. Politics in America is a huge mess on the public side of things.

I'm glad they finally got what they wanted, there was a time where my marriage wouldn't have been allowed or socially acceptable. And I know I would have been pissed if I had the government telling me we couldn't get married. Now that they got passed the legal bit they just have to deal with the social aspect of it.

The problem with bans, is not only do they not work,  they also create a larger black market and organized crime around that.  When things are just regulated, you can try to tightly control it and try to gain a profit from it to put towards harm reduction methods,  plus you move all the money that would be going to it, back into the open economy.   Jobs around it become legit so people can claim it as proper income, and money doesnt need to be spent on stupid luxury items to hide its worth since money in the bank could get highly scrutinized.   Substance bans are also always unfairly enforced against the lower classes which creates a whole host of new problems ::P and that doesnt even begin to mention the savings from police and courts lol

bans are useless,  when i was in highschool i could get any drug easier than i could get booze lol  heck it was easier to get drugs then cigs lol

to be fair,.. being worried and scared of republicans is the only sane response.

...and by republicans i obviously don't mean republicans.  i like most republicans.  is those dang uncompromising "my way or the highway" tea-party extremists that have waaaaay too much influence on the republican party that has me scared.

Politics are a crud shoot i don't even vote... I'm most likely independent leaning right, not a fan of same naughtiness marriage but don't see it as a problem by itself and potentially more beneficial in regards to taxes, inheritance, and adoption.
I am worried that it will pave the way for infringement of the first amendment.

How would it affect the first amendment?

Well there have already been cases prior to this where religious objectors would not service a SS marriage and got sued

Also the ban on confederate flags... The liberal media is really doing a great job presenting southern Republicans as the enemy of freedom

Personally i don't get it... Fine you can have your objections, but not providing flowers or catering because of it seems silly to me

Now I wonder what the next inequality will be. We've had gender, race, and now sexual preference all taken care of legally. What's next? Only thing I can think of is rights for AIs but that'd be many years from now.
