Bloodstained is weird. It was kind of almost under the radar at first. The big games that get lots of media attention don't follow that model. Shenmue especially shouldn't follow it since it was announced at a big press conference at E3 and therefore probably quite frontloaded

Even if Shenmue III gets as much money on the last 2 days as the first 2 days, it will still fall short of the $10 million Suzuki needs. My estimations have the final value at ~$8.8 million. If the late surge happens earlier, then the KS might hit that magic number. At this point, I think the most important part is for the KS to get close to that number. If it falls short by a small amount, then Sony shouldn't mind offering a few million dollars.

Also, the KS has gone above $3.5 million!

Even if Shenmue is very front loaded, there will still be an uptick towards the end.

Assuming the KS gets a nice late surge, it will get past $6 million. However, it won't get close to the $10 million Yu Suzuki would need to make Shenmue III open-world.
