Oh gosh darnit that's happened twice to me today. Thought I was posting new content, only to realise it had already been posted in a different thread.

I've been playing it since the very beginning of its early access. Don't even have a steam copy haha.

So thousands of hours lol.

ive heard you need docking ports, which ive been trying to do but have had much luck.  im getting frustrated with the placement aswell cause i cant seem to figure out how to move things closer/further from the camera

ive been doing sandbox to try and learn all the basics.   making massive rockets and such lol  im great and building rockets that can get WELL past escape velocity, but havent really figured out stearing lol  my probe will also be my first ion drive

this game is insanely addicting ..

Yeah you need either a docking port or a separator. For placement you rotate the camera by holding the right click and moving the mouse. Scroll to move up and down I think I remember. Use wasd to rotate parts.

To make great rockets you really should use asparagus fueling. Have lots of engines and lots of fuel tanks per engine. Start off with all engines being on, but all fuel is coming out of two tanks. Then when the tanks empty you drop them and their engines.

Ive made ships that could reach the first planet further out and probably more cause I really got them going. But my navigation isnt there. I havent even been able tos tay In earth orbit.  Is there some kind of autopilot?  Ive been trying over and over but i either fly out of control or have a trajectory that is almost straight up lol

actually i just went to my tracking,   one of mine, Deep space 8,  has a massive orbit around the sun.  going much futher then even Eeloo lol  but it doesnt have power left and no stearing lol

You need to use SAS. Press t to engage, and then the ship will stick to whatever course you desire. Add more stability blocks and your ship will be more stable. In the map view you can set up maneuvers to help plan your flight path.

Or you can install mechjeb, which is full on auto pilot. Just tell it what you want to do.
