I think the best way to describe it is, Zack Gregger made his own Resident Evil game and forced the main character to play through it. Each part of the movie would be a stage from a game and the movie plays just like a game from RE would play like. I didn't like the monster(s) though. They probably should have used enemies from the games.

It's kinda slow so far. I turned off hints and stuff so idk if that is why, but it's just basic puzzle after basic puzzle.

Still a solid 8.5 for me. Story was pretty good and while yeah combat could be repetitive if you wanted to just mash square you would have an annoying time playing. You have to vary up the way you play with parrying and combos with some other options I won't spoil. People who say it's repetitive are just hating to hate, imo.
