Just watched Alien Romulus last night. I liked it. Wasn't amazing, but it was pretty good.

I haven't seen many options. They seem to cost (well) over $100 used.
Oh. I've thrown away a far amount just to clean up space.

Finally going through and redeeming my digital code on blurays. This is pretty nice! They are all super expired but so far only prometheus and the martian have not worked.

Have yet to try non apple ones.

I'm surprised.

I'm only really aware of Warner Bros expiring their codes.

I've had Disney codes that worked fine 5 years past the expiration date. A bunch of WB stuff that was a few months past the expiration date though.

Vhs sucked. Don't think this will become a trend

I've got some VHS players at school, but I have to clean them.

My codes for Batman the Animated Series were expired, Warner Bros. refused to do anything about it.

Legend

I tried more movies and a lot more haven't worked, but it's really random.

2 expired in 2011 yet still worked.

Maybe I'll just rip them one day like Pi. Does plex support 3D?

Does plex support 3D?
Sub optimally.
It apparently doesn't support frame packed. It will deliver any other 3D format.

Not about 3D, but do you know if Plex PC will automatically hijack the output?  I don't think there's a PC media player that hijacks windows and outputs 4k+HDR (Whatever native HDR the video has)

Not sure what you mean by hijacking the output?
Plex will output 4k HDR though?

(Although Windows 11 is needed for DV)

If I play a 4K video in VLC the desktop resolution is still 1080p and the video is ultimately 1080p.  HDR also won't work properly since I don't think there's a native HDR player?  That's what I mean by hijack.  Do what games do and take over the resolution and HDR output.

So I no-context watched the last 20 minutes of Barbie.  Holy hell was this one of the worst, subvert expectations, ending I've ever seen.  So I was watching when Barbie was bringing the humans into Barbie world and the Ken's were taking over with their toxic masculinity.  Then the Barbie's confused the Ken's and took Barbie world back.  I was actually alright with all of that, it's a silly child movie for little girls.  What happened after all that is where I was like; "WTF?". So the moral of the Ken's being repressed and treated as second class citizens, which caused them to eventually rebel, is to suppress them again?  Toxic masculinity and imperialism is fine if we do it!  Turns out men are allowed to have feelings, and when Ken needs to figure out what to do with them, you know, maybe have a compassionate girlfriend help him through them?  Nope.  "I don't love you Ken, I'm going to the real world to see my gynaecologist.  Sucks to be you.". What the hell was that ending?

VLC just needs to be in true fullscreen right?

And yeah the ending of barbie is silly imo, and the rest of the movie only makes it worse. I don't thing they were going for anything with that cause it makes no sense.

VLC full screens into whatever desktop resolution is.  I want a player that overtakes Windows resolution the way games do.  Oh well.
I hope that poorly thought out ending was just ignorance, cause like, I get it you didn't want a generic guy gets girl ending.  But what you made wasn't any better.  "I don't love you Ken, but I'm still your friend and I'll help you through these emotions as best as I can.  I'm still learning about them too." Is a healthy response.  I know Barbie didn't say F-U, but to leave him in the dust so she can become human?  I don't know, really out of left field.  Same with President Barbie, like, "Oh, you oppressed us for 10k years so fudge you were oppressing you.". Like, I know it's cliche but "Do onto others as you would have done to you " isn't bad advice.  A simple "Hey Ken's, we get it, we'll work to getting a Ken on board so we can listen to your needs.". Again, that's a healthy response to being an oppressor and getting hit with rebellion.  Like, there's no compassion in today's media writing.
