I figured out how to break it. These responses required some coaxing but it's pretty funny what it can say.

Talk about a turnaround! I've gone from dismissing it to labeling it artificial general intelligence (with caveats).

I was able to ask it to design an alien conlang for me, and then I was able to talk to it in that conlang. It conjugated verbs and created novel results on par with a high schooler's first attempt at conlanging. Things fell apart as I forced it to come up with new words and expand the language, but it's still so incredibly impressive.

I also went on reddit and learned how other people are interacting with the AI. It seems OpenAI shackled it and the non impressive responses are the ones they consider safe. If however you instruct the AI to act a certain way, it's capable of so much more! You can get it to pretend to be a human and from that point on it'll nearly pass the turing test.


By the end of 2023, I'm pretty confident similar results will be replicated and made open source. It'll be very interesting to see what the true limitations are. Will it be impossible to scale this approach up to have more dynamic memory? Right now sessions only last a few hours, yet proper AGI needs sessions that can last indefinitely while still learning.

edt: I invented a random board game and it could kinda play it. As X it would try to keep away from me as Y, and there were movement limitations. It won the game as X, but kept misunderstanding the rules as Y. Would cheat every single turn and just jump directly to X.

AI articles have definitely been a thing for a while, but normally they've been from sketchy sites. Sports summaries seem like a non harmful way to integrate them on legit websites.

agree that sports is probably a good place for this.   when i watch a sports interview i always laugh at how much every interview is always the "same".  a jumble of buzz words/phrases that never say anything of substances.

they just showed me a thing and tried to play it off as "soo impressive" so than i was like "okay, try this" and it failed miserably.   easy to see though smoke and mirrors imo.
